Job summary

TEAM, Inc. seeks an entry-level LDAR helper to learn air monitoring, emissions measurement, and leak detection on refinery and industrial sites. You will receive training and perform equipment calibrations, data collection, and routine maintenance.

Must be safety-focused, eager to learn, and capable of traveling to multiple sites as needed. Team supports growth into other technical services and leadership roles within the organization.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school, Industry or relevant training preferred but not essential.
  • Industry experience preferred but not essential.
  • Driving License, TWIC Card, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety procedures and document work.
  • Perform EPA Method 21 hydrocarbon leak detection using portable gas analyzer.
  • Calibrate and certify analyzers, and perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Complete monitoring route tasks on schedule and report findings.
  • Identify leaks and tag leak sources per regulations.
  • Maintain LDAR component inventory and changes.
  • Provide reports daily and communicate with site personnel and branch management.
  • Communicate with plant personnel as directed.
  • Attend required training to maintain competence and improve skills.
  • Identify circumstances requiring proper safety procedures and equipment.

Position Overview

TEAM is seeking an entry level person interested in learning and assisting in Leak Detection & Repair Services (LDAR), will be trained and responsible for assisting in conducting air monitoring and emissions measurement activities, performing equipment calibrations and maintenance, and collecting and organizing field data for air quality compliance and emissions assessment program. Must be safety-focused, keen to train and learn with a good work ethic to continue a career within the service line career path assigned.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Compliance with all safety procedures and job documentation.
  • Perform EPA Method 21 hydrocarbon leak detection using a portable gas analyzer and electronic data collector.
  • Perform analyzer certification and calibration, and routine preventative maintenance to assure optimum operation of testing equipment.
  • Assure all activities for an assigned monitoring route are completed within a time frame consistent with TEAM’s policies and procedures, assuring all components are monitored completely and are accurately reported.
  • Identify leaks as prescribed by the applicable governing regulations and complete and attach a leaking component tag to properly identify the leak source.
  • Perform visual assessments for evidence of leaking hydrocarbons, and report equipment with open-ended lines.
  • Maintain the identification system of LDAR components and identify and record changes in the LDAR component inventory.
  • Provide reports daily and communicate with site-specific personnel and branch management regarding equipment changes.
  • Communicate with plant personnel as directed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attend and complete the required training to maintain competence and to continuously improve their skills and levels of competence and knowledge.
  • Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
Physical And Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard, refinery or plant environment to include the ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells except when performing non-field duties.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employees to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employees to investigations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.
Work Conditions
  • Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
