Position Overview

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems related to heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. Complete repairs as per DVIR and repair orders.
• Communicate vehicle issues to managers/drivers and discuss preventive measures.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
• Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conduct safety checks and perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
• Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
• Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
• Assist and guide Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.

Other Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in training courses.
• Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Exposure to chemicals and waste.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, bend, reach, and work in extreme temperatures.
