This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a Bellows Fabricator, you will learn to create precision metal bellows used in critical applications. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians, you’ll develop specialized skills in forming and inspecting thin‑wall metal bellows. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in a specialized field with applications across multiple high‑tech industries.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good near vision and hand‑eye coordination for detailed work
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Manual dexterity for precision assembly work
  • Ability to wear required PPE including eye protection and gloves
Schedule
  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week
  • B‑shift: Mon‑Thur (3 pm‑1:30 am); C‑shift: Fri‑Sun (5 am‑5:30 pm)
Key Responsibilities
  • Learn to form and assemble precision metal bellows components
  • Set up and operate specialized forming equipment
  • Follow detailed work instructions and engineering specifications
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Maintain production documentation and quality records
  • Perform basic material preparation tasks
  • Assist with production workflow to meet delivery schedules
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of metal fabrication concepts
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Willingness to learn specialized fabrication techniques
Preferred
  • Experience working with thin‑wall Inconel or similar nickel‑based alloys
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools
  • Technical training in metal fabrication
  • Experience in aerospace or other precision manufacturing environments
Background Check
  • Required for all positions: Blue’s Standard Background Check
  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation
  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre‑employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
