Job summary

Halozyme, Inc. is seeking a Technician 2, Manufacturing for our Minnesota Operations Facility. This role supports second-shift operations from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM and focuses on GMP manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

You will perform routine and complex tasks, maintain documentation per GDP/cGMP, and work on assembly, final packaging, and inspection with a strong emphasis on quality and traceability.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma with 1–3 years in manufacturing.
  • Experience in controlled/clean room environment.
  • Documentation and data traceability are essential.
  • Experience with automated and/or laboratory equipment.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Proficient with computers, MS 365.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Pharma SOP execution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and distributes supplies in the manufacturing area.
  • Operates and monitors manufacturing equipment to produce pharmaceutical products.

How you will make an impact

The Technician 2, Manufacturing will be responsible for performing routine and complex tasks for the GMP manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical products at the Minnesota Operations Facility. The Technician 2, Manufacturing will be familiar with best practices for cGMP assembly and packaging of combination pharmaceutical products. This individual is responsible for the documentation and the hands‑on execution of production activities related to assembly, final packaging, and inspection of manufactured pharmaceutical products.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Responsible for quality and adheres to all manufacturing process and quality requirements according to Halozyme quality processes
  • Receives and distributes supplies in the manufacturing area
  • Operates and monitors manufacturing equipment to produce clinical and commercial pharmaceutical products under minimal supervision
  • Performs the assembly, final packaging, and inspection of pharmaceutical products
  • Assembles products following all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), while meeting manufacturing goals and metrics
  • Ability to maintain accurate records following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines including training files and shop floor paperwork
  • Provides feedback to management on recommendations for procedural and process improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
  • Minimum High School Diploma with 1-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
  • Must be able to work in a controlled or clean room environment requiring special gowning
  • Critical understanding of the importance of documentation and data traceability
  • Experience utilizing automated and/or laboratory equipment
  • Must have the ability to work safely and responsibly in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of LEAN Manufacturing methodologies
  • Comfortable utilizing computers in the workplace and familiar with Microsoft 356
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities, as necessary
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Familiarity with executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a manufacturing or assembling environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to perform product and/or process investigations preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

The most likely base pay range for this position is $50K - $60K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual’s exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
