Cornerstone Energy Services, Inc. specializes in engineering, survey, and land solutions for the energy infrastructure sector. From initial concept through project completion, we provide comprehensive services including civil, process, mechanical, and I&E engineering; project management; survey and mapping; and right-of-way acquisition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application on a full‑time basis without the need for employer‑sponsored work authorization now or in the future. • Serve as an entry‑level field or rod person on a survey field crew.
• Set up back‑sight and foresight targets and total station instrument.
• Set and mark stakes for construction.
• Support field efforts with land surveying by applying the principles and theories of math, science & engineering.
• Drive company vehicle to and from job sites.
• Keep survey vehicle stocked, clean, and organized.
• Operate print machine and copier to assemble plans and documents for projects when necessary.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Duties are largely performed in a field setting.
• Field settings may include work outdoors and on construction sites during all weather conditions.
• May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
• Position requires travel (up to 100%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
• Position requires long hours and physical ability to hike through a variety of terrains while carrying equipment of approximately 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• The ability to complete survey assignments from written and oral instructions.
• The ability to apply math concepts.
• The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
• Basic computer/internet skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• High School Diploma required.
• Applicable college courses and/or associates degree in surveying, engineering, GIS or mapping is a plus.
• 0–2 years’ experience in field surveys.
• Prior experience with construction and mapping terminology and the use of coordinate‑based information is a plus.
