The company’s engineers and service technicians design, install, and service customized crane and hoist solutions to meet specific operational requirements. MHS Crane focuses on helping customers achieve peak performance while maintaining OSHA compliance and safety standards. With nearly 45 years in the crane and hoist industry, the company is an authorized and certified dealer for major brands and offers inspections, equipment modernization, certified load testing, consulting, and training. MHS Crane operates multiple locations across the Southeast United States and supports both national and global clients.

Role Description

The Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Braddock, PA. This role is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing cranes, hoists, and related material handling equipment at customer facilities. Daily tasks include performing OSHA-compliant safety inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting certified load tests, and documenting all work performed in service reports. The Technician will collaborate with engineers, service coordinators, and customers to schedule work, recommend equipment upgrades or modernization, and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. This position involves working in industrial environments, adhering to company and customer safety procedures, and occasionally supporting training or technical consulting activities.

Qualifications
  • Technical skills in mechanical and electrical systems related to cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform equipment inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with OSHA and safety standards.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and lift or rigging equipment in industrial settings.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills, including accurate service records and inspection reports.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and client teams.
  • Ability to work safely at heights, in varying environmental conditions, and to follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in crane, hoist, or material handling service is preferred; relevant military or industrial maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer sites as needed.
