Qualifications

  • Prior military UAS and/or aviation experience with instructor or standardization background.
  • Ability to translate operations into clear, user-focused manuals.
  • Experience developing military training documentation or curriculum.
  • Understanding of military training standards (TSP, IETM, TACOM/PEO).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve qualification on the UAS platform with hands-on proficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a Training Support Package (TSP) per government standards.
  • Create operator and maintenance manuals, procedures, checklists, and quick reference guides.
  • Develop instructor-led training content, student guides, slides, and assessments.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and program management to ensure accuracy.
  • Submit manuals and training products for government review and approval.
  • Incorporate government feedback in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Support training events, demonstrations, and fielding activities.
  • Maintain configuration control of all documentation and training materials.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Training & Technical Documentation Specialist with a military Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and aviation background to support a military customer by developing, maintaining, and delivering a comprehensive Training Support Package (TSP) for new equipment and system capabilities. This role requires an individual with prior aviation instructor and/or standardization pilot experience who can quickly become qualified on the assigned system, achieve operational and maintenance proficiency, and convert that knowledge into validated technical documentation and training products.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve qualification on the assigned UAS platform, including hands-on operational and maintenance proficiency, functional use, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Develop, update, and maintain a complete Training Support Package (TSP) in accordance with government standards and program requirements.
  • Create high-quality technical documentation, including: – Operator manuals – Maintenance manuals – Procedures, checklists, and quick reference guides
  • Develop training materials such as: – Instructor-led training content – Student guides – PowerPoint presentations – Assessments, training aids, and multimedia content
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to ensure documentation accuracy and currency.
  • Submit all technical manuals, maintenance materials, and training products to the government for formal review, validation, and approval.
  • Incorporate government feedback and required changes in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Support training events, demonstrations, and fielding activities as needed.
  • Maintain configuration control of all documentation and training materials.
Required Qualifications:
  • Prior military UAS and/or aviation experience, with background as an aviation instructor and/or standardization pilot (e.g., Instructor Pilot, Instructor Operator, or Standardization Instructor/Evaluator).
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve hands‑on system/platform qualification and translate operational and maintenance knowledge into clear, user-focused technical documentation.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, training materials, or curriculum for military systems or programs.
  • Strong understanding of military training standards, formats, and validation processes (e.g., TSP, IETM, TACOM/PEO requirements).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, logisticians, and government customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common documentation tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior military UAS operator, maintainer, or crew experience in addition to instructor/standardization background.
  • Experience with training development methodologies such as ADDIE.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices, technical data packages, or system fielding processes.
  • Knowledge of configuration management principles.
  • Previous support to Army, DoD, or similar government programs.
