Job summary

Peraton is seeking a skilled technical writer to develop and maintain system documentation by translating complex information from engineers and SMEs into clear diagrams, data dictionaries, and procedures. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office, Visio, Confluence, Jira, and repository governance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• High School diploma with 5 years of directly relevant experience.
• Experience creating system-level documentation (architecture diagrams, interface specs, data dictionaries, user guides).
• Ability to translate technical information from SMEs/engineers into clear documentation.
• Experience managing a documentation repository using Confluence, SharePoint or Jira.
• Proficiency with documentation/diagramming tools including MS Office, Visio, Confluence and Jira.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills for multiple documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

Required:

• An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
• High School diploma with at least 5 years of directly relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience creating system-level documentation such as architecture diagrams, interface specifications, data dictionaries, and user guides.
• Strong ability to interpret technical information from SMEs, engineers, and system artifacts and translate it into clear,accuratedocumentation.
• Experience managing a documentation repository using tools such asConfluence, SharePoint, Jira, or similar systems.
• Proficiencywith documentation, diagramming, and collaboration tools includingMicrosoft Office Suite, Visio,Confluence, and Jira.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintainaccuracy across multiple concurrent documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Desired:

• Experience supporting government programs and/or Department of Defense customers.
