Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Training Coordinator to join our team in Itasca, IL. This role schedules and delivers onboarding and ongoing training, supports quality metrics, and travels to client sites to provide instruction on policies, procedures and Lab Information Systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science or related field, with 1+ years as a technologist and preferred ASCP/AMT certification plus leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
  • 1 year or more of experience as a Technologist.
  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications preferred.
  • 6+ months supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • In lieu of education, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits may meet requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding of new employees and initial training for a positive new hire experience.
  • Provide ongoing group and individualized training for performance improvement and education.
  • Deliver training on company policies, department procedures, and LIS.
  • Develop resources and programs to meet training objectives.
  • Evaluate and update training materials and plans.
  • Serve as a procedural and compliance resource for department staff.
  • Support leadership with quality and service metrics goals.
  • Assist with improvement plans for underperforming employees.
  • Maintain logs and records for trainings conducted.
  • Provide training with professionalism and respect.
  • Assist with workflow during high volume or coverage needs.
  • Travel to client sites and other branches to train.
  • Research industry-related information when needed.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Training Coordinator to join our team in Itasca, IL.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees as well as initial training to ensure a positive new hire experience

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • 1 year or more of experience as a Technologist
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP and/or AMT Certifications
  • 6 months or more of prior supervisory or leadership experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Flexibility to travel throughout territory for training purposes
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Pay Range
  • Pay Range: $27.00 - $34.00

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
