Job summary

Atlas Copco in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Training Coordinator to design, deliver, and continually improve technical training for the Service Division. You will blend classroom instruction, simulations, and hands-on practice with Atlas Copco products, while supporting customers as a Field Service Engineer when not training.

This role is based at the Auburn Hills, MI office and requires identifying skill gaps, creating materials, and assessing performance to ensure teams are well equipped to

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as Training Coordinator, Trainer, or Technical Instructor in manufacturing or service.
• Working knowledge of wireless tools, networking, and Bluetooth connectivity.
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical aptitude; hands-on field experience preferred.
• Familiarity with PLCs, Ladder Logic, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills; able to simplify complex topics.
• Understanding of instructional design principles and learning management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and evaluate full training cycles.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Are you our next Training Coordinator?

As a Training Coordinator, you will prepare new members of our Service Division to succeed in customer production environments. You’ll design, deliver, and continuously improve technical training programs that blend classroom instruction, simulation-based exercises, and hands‑on practice with Atlas Copco products. When not conducting training, you will actively support our customers as a Field Service Engineer, performing equipment installation and troubleshooting. This hands‑on field experience helps you stay current with our technology and ensures that our training programs reflect real‑world conditions. Based at our Auburn Hills, MI office, you will manage all aspects of the training process, from identifying skill gaps to creating materials and assessing performance, ensuring each team member is fully equipped to support our customers effectively.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Manage the training schedule, records, and system of accountability (Process Control).
• Collect and evaluate feedback from participants to continuously improve training effectiveness.
• Use learning management systems (LMS) to track and measure development progress.
• Support Field Service operations when not conducting training:
  • Perform equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support and service to customers in production environments.
• Document activities, report findings, and recommend improvements

To succeed, you will need

• At least 3 years of experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, or Technical Instructor within manufacturing or a service-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of wireless tools, networking, and Bluetooth connectivity.
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, with hands‑on field experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Ladder Logic, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills; able to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of instructional design principles and learning management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and evaluate full training cycles.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
