Job description

Join Our Team: Technical Trainer (Manufacturing & Equipment)

Location: California Facility (On-Site)

Department: People Operations / Training & Safety

The Hook: Ready to Rise to a New Challenge?

Imagine a workplace where the delicious aroma of fresh bread meets cutting-edge, high-speed automation. Now imagine being the driving force that empowers the entire production team to master that machinery safely and skillfully.

We are looking for a dynamic, high-energy Technical Trainer to build and lead our end-to-end, start-to-finish equipment training program. This isn't just a desk job—it’s a hands-on, high-impact leadership opportunity where you will bridge classroom theory with live production floor execution in our industrial bakery. If you love technical problem-solving and have a passion for coaching people, this is your stage to shine.

The Vibe: A Culture of Trust & Growth

We believe that world-class manufacturing equipment is only as good as the people operating it. That's why we have intentionally built a workplace culture centered on trust, transparency, and continuous improvement. We lead with empathy and believe that vulnerability is an asset—creating a safe space for our employees to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and truly grow into their roles. As our Technical Trainer, you won’t just be teaching mechanics; you will be cultivating this high-trust learning environment every single day.

Your Three Pillars of Impact

You will be the ultimate guardian of operational excellence, focusing your energy across three core areas:

1. Machine Safety (Zero-Tolerance Risk Mitigation): You will instill a deep safety mindset, ensuring every operator masters Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), recognizes mechanical pinch points, and respects safety interlocks.

2. Operational Mastery (Precision Baking): You will turn complex machinery into a seamless art form, training operators on precise setup parameters, formula adherence, and quick troubleshooting to eliminate micro-stops.

3. Cleaning & Sanitation (Food Safety Defense): You will Champion absolute cleanliness, training team members on detailed machine teardowns, chemical safety, and Clean-In-Place (CIP) practices to keep our bakery audit-ready and consumer-safe.

What Your Days Will Look Like

As a natural storyteller and technical expert, your responsibilities will flow smoothly from the classroom to the bakery floor:

Design & Innovate: Create and maintain standardized, visually engaging training materials and evaluation tools tailored to our automated processing and packaging machinery.

Inspire in the Classroom: Lead foundational, high-level classroom sessions covering machinery mechanics, process flows, and critical compliance parameters.

Coach on the Floor: Step out onto the production floor to provide immersive, step-by-step coaching on live automated systems.

Certify Competency: Conduct rigorous, objective practical audits to officially sign off and certify operators before they take the reins independently.

Track the Metrics: Own the facility's training matrix and track key performance indicators (KPIs) like time-to-competency and retraining cadences to show the direct impact of your programs.

Are You the Perfect Mix?

Your Experience & Knowledge:

You have 3 to 5 years of dedicated technical training or instructional delivery experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (bonus points if it’s commercial food or bakery manufacturing!).

You possess a strong mechanical aptitude and love figuring out high-speed automated machinery, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and PLCs.

You are well-versed in industrial safety (OSHA/Cal-OSHA compliance, LOTO, Machine Guarding) and food safety metrics (GMP, HACCP, SQF).

Your Soft Skills & Superpowers:

You are an exceptional communicator who can break down dense, complex technical steps into clear, actionable directives.

You have solid digital literacy, including experience tracking data in Excel and utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS).

The Physical Nitty-Gritty & Environment:

You enjoy being active—standing and walking across a high-speed, dynamic production floor.

You are completely comfortable working around large-scale commercial ovens (high temperatures), automated mixers, and sanitation chemicals.

You can easily lift up to 50 pounds when demonstrating machinery teardowns.

You bring the flexibility to occasionally support alternate shifts (2nd and 3rd) to ensure our training culture is thriving 24/7.
