TECHNICAL SUPPORT SUPERVISOR II MD Range Instrumentation, Eglin AFB Open Position Request Number: R-YY-26 CLASSIFICATION: Technical Support Supervisor II GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: Range Instrumentation / Eglin AFB, FL - On Site ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: his position reports to the Range Instrumentation Section Manager and may interface with range schedulers; project coordinators; members of management. Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of mission support coordination applicable to range support elements such as TSPI Reference Radars, Spectrum Monitoring, and Advanced Command Destruct Systems (ACDS) and analysis, communications, data collection instrumentation, and data product/media distribution. Must be familiar with range safety requirements and other local government agencies that impact mission activity. Must have thorough knowledge of facility test support capabilities and the ability to convey that knowledge to test engineers and customers. Incumbents must exercise discretion and independent judgement in resolving problems. May be responsible for assuring communications systems are established between range control, test aircraft and mission support personnel, including submission of work requests to facilitate range maintenance and operation.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Requires practical knowledge of operational objectives and range capabilities.
• Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in operations, testing and/or maintenance methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
• Participate in the hiring of new employees by conducting interviews and making recommendations.
• Provide employee counseling for disciplinary issues and perform performance evaluations.
• Ensure effective employee relations; provide employee coaching and development; resolve employee issues through problem resolution; balance quality, productivity, cost, and safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; manage site performance measures and provide regular progress reports; manage department priorities; track absenteeism and timekeeping; and support Process Improvement.
• Responsible for all aspects of range control and safety, and all other duties as assigned. Job Requirements OTHER DUTIES: Other duties include, but are not limited to, review of pertinent directive information, coordination with appropriate agencies regarding compliance with directive instructions as well as company and USAF safety, environmental, etc. requirements. Sound, practical knowledge of Timekeeping, Logistics and Maintenance modules in PIMS highly desirable. Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission requirements in job-related areas.
• Must be a technical or service school graduate in communications-electronics with a minimum of five years' related operations experience to include supervising employees and project management. Experience in Radars, Spectrum Monitoring, and Advanced Command Destruct Systems (ACDS) or related systems experience, highly desired.
• This challenging position requires advanced leadership and managerial skills, as well as good functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel programs as well as PIMS modules. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
• This position may function in a variety of environmental conditions both inside and outside, depending on mission requirements.
• This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal. May require sitting for long periods of time. Some lifting of up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, stooping and climbing may be required.
