Summary
The Technical Support Field Engineer provides on‑site technical support for Dentsply Sirona Imaging, CAD/CAM, and Treatment Center customers and authorized dealer technicians. The role involves evaluating and analyzing hardware and software issues, traveling to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and repair, providing situational training to dealer technicians and customers, and maintaining accurate records in the repair database. The successful candidate is self‑driven, has strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, and is capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide site assessments, on‑site installation, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for Dentsply Sirona Imaging, CAD/CAM and Treatment Center customers.
- Offer guidance and answers to customers calling in for installation, operation, troubleshooting and repair assistance.
- Administer technical functions, test equipment, handle repairs, conduct site inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate system functionality and respond to customer issues and complaints.
- Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems and provide updates to managers and customers.
- Maintain advanced technical knowledge of assigned products to deliver expert installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems, including troubleshooting, testing, generating reports, and modifying designs.
- Communicate status and completion information to management and stakeholders via phone, e‑mail or in‑person.
- Serve as a resource for other departments seeking technical information regarding the assigned products.
- Install, repair, and maintain customer equipment and train customers on proper use.
- Travel for service calls on short notice, including overnight travel when required.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as requested to support the technical service function.
Education
- Minimum 2‑year college degree required, or certification in biomedical equipment technology, applied engineering, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: CompTIA, Cisco, or similar certifications are a plus.
Years And Type Of Experience
- Minimum four years of field experience in a technical environment, preferably with medical/dental equipment.
Required Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- SQL database software
- Internet and email applications
- Database management and query writing (a plus)
- Wireshark experience (a plus)

- Pay Range: $36.06 – $40.87 hourly rate.
