Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled freelance Technical Strategist with expertise in enterprise-level Email Marketing to join our remote team.

As a Technical Email Strategist for enterprise-level ecommerce clients, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective email marketing strategies to drive customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and analytics, to optimize email campaigns and ensure technical efficiency.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute email marketing strategies:

  • Create and implement comprehensive email marketing strategies that align with business goals, customer segmentation, and industry best practices. Ensure campaigns are optimized for deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, and conversion metrics.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Coordinate and execute end-to-end email campaigns, including planning, scheduling, testing, and deployment.

Technical optimization:

  • Manage email marketing tools, platforms, and infrastructure, ensuring they are properly configured, integrated, and performing optimally. Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve technical issues, such as email deliverability, responsive design, A/B testing, and personalization.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to email deliverability, coding, and automation. Flexibility to adapt to evolving industry trends, consumer behaviors, and email marketing regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).

Data analysis and reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze email marketing performance metrics, such as engagement rates, conversion rates, and ROI. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to optimize campaign performance and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements (Skills & Qualifications):
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practices:Knowledge of industry standards, trends, and emerging technologies in email marketing. Familiarity with segmentation strategies, email automation, personalization, and email copywriting techniques.
  • Technical proficiency:Proficient in HTML/CSS coding for email design and troubleshooting. Experience with email marketing platforms and tools (e.g., Braze, Iterable, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and their respective APIs. Ability to handle technical aspects of email marketing, such as responsive design, A/B testing, and dynamic content.
  • Communication and collaboration:Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and analytics, to ensure seamless execution of email campaigns. Experience working with stakeholders to define goals, provide updates, and address concerns.
Compensation

This is a remote contract role, 10 hours per week to start (trial period) with room for immediate growth after the trial period.

While the schedule is flexible, you must be regularly available between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM MT Monday through Friday.

Hourly: Starting at $65 / hour (negotiable depending on experience)
