Grady Health System in Atlanta seeks a Technical Specialist to lead the laboratory sub-specialty operations. The role partners with the Section Manager to support workflow efficiency, staff development, education, quality initiatives, and administrative duties.
High autonomy and judgment are required. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field, with 1 year hospital lab experience if holding a degree, or 5+ years without a degree.

The Technical Specialist serves as the lead technologist and oversees the technical operations of the sub-specialty area. This role partners closely with the Section Manager to support workflow efficiency, staff development, education, quality initiatives, and administrative responsibilities. The position requires a high level of autonomy and independent judgment in decision-making.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field required
With Bachelor's Degree: At minimum one year of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory is required.
Without Bachelor's Degree: Five or more years of experience in the specialty area is required.
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists -ASCP, National Certification Agency NCA required.
