Position Overview

Help customers solve real-world challenges with technology that shapes how things are designed and made. The Autodesk team is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to join our regional Technical Specialist Team in North America as a Technical Specialist for Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO).

As a Technical Specialist, you’ll be a trusted technical partner to customers, sales teams, and our partners—helping organizations get more value from Autodesk’s established solutions and turning proven technology into meaningful business outcomes. You’ll work across a diverse set of customers, using your technical expertise to understand their challenges, demonstrate solutions, and help move opportunities forward. Rather than reinventing the wheel for every customer, you’ll identify what works, adapt proven approaches to new situations, and create a consistent, scalable experience across the market.

This is a highly collaborative role. You’ll partner closely with Autodesk sales teams as well as our network of partners, helping them confidently communicate the value of Autodesk solutions and giving them the technical knowledge and tools they need to succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Solve customer challenges: Understand customer needs and connect them to practical Autodesk solutions that can make a measurable difference
  • Bring technology to life: Lead technical conversations, demonstrations, and solution discussions that help customers see what’s possible
  • Accelerate opportunities: Use your technical expertise at the right moments to build confidence, remove obstacles, and help sales opportunities move forward
  • Scale what works: Apply proven solution approaches across multiple customers, adapting them thoughtfully rather than starting from scratch each time
  • Enable others: Equip sales teams and partners with the technical knowledge, messaging, and repeatable approaches they need to engage customers effectively
  • Collaborate across the ecosystem: Work alongside Autodesk sellers, partners, and customers to create a seamless experience from initial conversation through solution adoption
  • Create consistency and impact: Help establish repeatable ways of working that allow Autodesk to reach more customers while maintaining a high-quality technical experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the architecture, engineering, construction, or operations (AECO) industry, including meaningful experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, transportation, or related workflows
  • Strong understanding of civil and infrastructure workflows and the technology used to design, deliver, operate, or maintain complex infrastructure projects
  • Experience working directly with customers, owners, project stakeholders, or multidisciplinary teams to understand business challenges, technical requirements, and desired outcomes
  • Experience using design, engineering, construction, or infrastructure technology to solve real-world project or organizational challenges
  • Demonstrated experience using AI and emerging technologies to improve workflows, solve problems, automate work, or extend the capabilities of existing software
  • Ability to translate a customer or business need into a practical technical solution, including identifying opportunities to customize, connect, augment, or extend existing technology
  • Experience evaluating, testing, configuring, customizing, or integrating technology solutions to address specific workflow or business requirements
  • Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability, with the ability to learn rapidly and apply emerging technologies to new industry challenges
  • Experience demonstrating, presenting, training, or coaching others on technology, workflows, or technical solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including customers, business leaders, and project stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and apply repeatable approaches and best practices across projects, teams, or customers
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across technical, business, and customer-facing teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with public-sector owners, particularly cities, airports, or other large infrastructure organizations
  • Experience with Bentley products and workflows, particularly in civil engineering, infrastructure, transportation, or public-sector environments
  • Experience with Autodesk products and workflows relevant to civil, infrastructure, and AECO environments
  • Experience creating AI-powered solutions, automations, prototypes, or workflow enhancements that address specific industry or customer needs
  • Experience using emerging technology to connect information, improve processes, reduce repetitive work, or enable capabilities that are not available out of the box
  • Experience developing proofs of concept or innovative solutions to explore new approaches to customer or business problems
  • Experience creating reusable technical demonstrations, solution patterns, playbooks, documentation, or enablement materials
  • Experience influencing technology strategy, digital transformation, standards, or technology adoption within an organization
  • Experience working with technology vendors, partners, consultants, or internal technical teams to evaluate and implement new solutions
