Job summary

Expert Technology Services supports a contract with the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) for a Senior Integration / Interface Engineer API & ETL. The role focuses on designing enterprise data integration, API, and ETL solutions, building real-time and batch interfaces, and translating requirements into scalable integration designs.

The candidate develops using IBM IIB/ACE, MuleSoft, Boomi, Java or Python, and works with REST/SOAP APIs, JMS, MQ, XML, JSON,

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise data integration, API, and ETL solutions.
• Build real-time, on-demand, batch, and scheduled system interfaces.
• Gather technical and business requirements and translate into integration solutions.
• Design, implement, test, and support complex application and data integrations.
• Develop integrations using IBM IIB/ACE, MuleSoft, or Boomi.
• Develop and consume REST/SOAP APIs and web services.
• Work with JMS, MQ, XML, JSON, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Deploy and support containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Support integration solutions hosted on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Design solutions for scalability, high availability, performance, and reliability.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and Git-based version control.
• Troubleshoot complex integration, API, data-processing, and production issues.
• Support application go-live, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
• Manage multiple technical, business, development, and testing efforts simultaneously.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, architects, business teams, QA, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise data integration, API, and ETL solutions.
• Build real-time, on-demand, batch, and scheduled system interfaces.
• Gather technical and business requirements and translate them into integration solutions.
• Design, implement, test, and support complex application and data integrations.
• Develop integrations using IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
• Design and develop integration solutions using MuleSoft and/or Boomi.
• Develop applications and integration components using Java and/or Python.
• Develop and consume REST/SOAP APIs and web services.
• Work with JMS, MQ, XML, JSON, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Deploy and support containerized applications using Kubernetes.

Required Skills

Strong experience with IBM IIB/ACE, MuleSoft or Boomi, Java/Python, REST/SOAP APIs, JMS, MQ, XML, JSON, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure, CI/CD, DevOps, Git, enterprise integration patterns, scalability, and high availability.

Experience with MuleSoft in addition to IIB/ACE is highly preferred. Knowledge of TeamCity, SonarQube, Ant/Maven, Bitbucket, TOSCA, and Selenium is also desirable.
