Job summary

Amazon Web Services in Austin, TX seeks a Technical Sourcing Manager to lead hardware sourcing, pricing, geo‑diversity, and supplier relationships for AWS infrastructure. You will drive multi‑sourcing strategies, manage supplier qualification, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure scalable capacity at launch.

You will work with senior leadership to develop negotiations strategies, deliver periodic updates, and shape the roadmap for low‑cost, high‑reliability infrastructure

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and matching requirements to solutions.
  • 6+ years of Global Category Manager experience.
  • Experience negotiating complex supplier agreements and contracts.

  • Develop and implement Mechanical sourcing strategies for AWS hardware infrastructure.

  • Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps and execute on strategic initiatives in those products.

  • Provide weekly core‑team updates, deliver executive level updates on a monthly basis, and handle vendor escalations.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly effective candidate to identify, create, develop and integrate innovative technology to deliver the best operating, lowest cost infrastructure in the world.


This role will lead sourcing, pricing, geo‑diversity, second source manufacturing and supplier relationship efforts for supply resiliency for networking, storage, core compute and AI/ML products added to our product roadmap. This role will manage the additional supply chain complexity when qualifying suppliers and manufacturing lines when transitioning from development to mass production. Additionally, this role will deliver our component multi‑sourcing strategies, pricing, and enable contract manufacturing for the same platforms to ensure supply chain resiliency for our expanding platform roadmap. This role will be the primary supplier contacts focussed on: capacity planning, and contract agreements during product development so that at launch, manufacturing capacity is scalable to meet our customer needs.

Basic Qualifications
