Job description

Technical Sourcing Manager - Robotics Components

Atlanta, Georgia

Geek+ is a global leader in robotic solutions for logistics. We develop Autonomous Mobile-Robot (AMR) solutions to realize flexible, reliable, and highly efficient automation for warehouses and supply chain management by automating various laborious tasks like picking, moving, and sorting. We've led the global AMR market share for three consecutive years, being declared the world's no.1 AMR leader. (Source: Interact Analysis). The North American headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia will continue to power our growth in Canada, United States and Mexico.

To meet the demand for its solutions we are looking to add a talented and driven Hardware Supplier Manager to our Atlanta team.

Life at Geekplus

Plain and simple, we're a team of geeks who love technology and teamwork. We work together to meet any customer needs; we celebrate our wins and learn from our misses. The only thing better than seeing customer operations improved by our technology, is seeing it happen at scale! We are biased to action, getting it done and thinking differently about how we apply technology. We support each other and we're empowered to win. Our strength comes from our different backgrounds and perspectives.

The Job

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sourcing Manager to lead the sourcing, supplier development, and commercialization of mechanical and electrical components used in robotic and automated material handling systems.

This is a hands-on, technically oriented sourcing role that requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, and the U.S. manufacturing and supplier market. The successful candidate will be responsible not only for sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, but also for identifying, qualifying, and developing suppliers capable of producing the components required for Geekplus' robotic systems.

The role will initially focus on sourcing and supplier development for machined components, cable and wire harnesses, and fasteners, with the scope expected to expand over time to include motors, gearboxes, and other electrical and electronic components.

The ideal candidate will be able to understand engineering requirements, evaluate manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities, analyze cost structures, and work closely with Engineering and Product teams to support design for manufacturability, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this role will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Innovation, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Operations teams to build a competitive, reliable, and scalable supplier base for Geekplus' growing North American business.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for robotic and automation components, initially focusing on machined components, cable and wire harnesses, and fasteners, with future scope expanding to motors, gearboxes, and other electrical and electronic components.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers based on manufacturing capabilities, technical capabilities, cost competitiveness, capacity, lead time, and scalability.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, tooling, payment terms, lead times, capacity commitments, and other commercial conditions.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Supply Chain teams to understand component requirements and lead supplier selection, qualification, prototype builds, and production ramp‑up.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively address issues related to cost, delivery, capacity, and supply continuity.
  • Assess supplier and supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing and alternative supplier development.
  • Monitor the U.S. manufacturing and supplier market to identify new sourcing opportunities, emerging suppliers, and relevant manufacturing capabilities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in technical sourcing, supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or a related role involving mechanical and/or electrical components.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production methods, materials, and cost drivers for mechanical and electrical components.
  • Proven experience with supplier qualification, new supplier development, prototype sourcing, NPI, and production ramp‑up.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. manufacturing and supplier market, with demonstrated experience identifying and developing capable US based suppliers.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and other technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience in the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) industry is a plus.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and quality assurance standards is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
