Job summary

Afinitas, a global leader in precast concrete equipment and accessories, seeks a Technical Solutions leader to drive quoting, costing, and pricing across multiple functions. You will mentor a team, shape proposals, and ensure accurate handoffs as projects progress from quotation to delivery.

You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance to meet customer requirements, control margins, and standardize configurations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Technical Solutions team and drive performance.

• Lead the quoting process; reflect customer requirements, scope, costs, pricing, margins.
• Maintain the quoting system to standardize configurations, costing and pricing.
• Drive commercial discipline through pricing policies and approvals.
• Review project costs and margins to improve future costing and quoting.

• Support customer communications to define requirements and questions.
• Monitor projects through completion and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate handoff of projects to downstream functions.

Job Description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Leads and develops the Technical Solutions team and is accountable for team performance and results.
• Serves as a player-coach, personally supporting quotations and technical-commercial projects while providing direction to the team.
• Leads the quoting process and ensures proposals accurately reflect customer requirements, equipment scope, costs, pricing, and margins.
• Maintains the quoting system to drive consistent use of standard product configurations, costing, and pricing. Escalates non-standard requirements as appropriate.
• Drives commercial discipline through adherence to established pricing, margin, discount, and approval policies.
• Reviews completed project costs and margins to improve future costing, pricing, and quoting assumptions.
• Works cross-functionally with Sales, Application Engineering, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to resolve technical and commercial requirements.
• Supports customer communication to define requirements, clarify proposals, and address project-related questions.
• Monitors awarded projects through completion and communicates status, changes, and concerns to customers and appropriate internal teams.
• Ensures an accurate and complete technical and commercial handoff of awarded projects to downstream functions.
• Drives continuous improvement, standardization, and cross-training within the global Technical Solutions organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1–2 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field with 3–5 years; or Associate degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical equipment and applications.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of costing, pricing, margins, and basic manufacturing principles.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with CRM, ERP, quoting, and similar business systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. The employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
