Job summary

SOLV Energy, LLC is seeking a Technical Service Technician level 2 to support PV corrective maintenance and repairs on projects nationwide. The role is full-time on a Western Region jobsite with travel and requires strong safety practices, electrical testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, plus support for third party repairs and repowers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Willingness and ability to travel ~80% of the time.
• Valid NFPA 70e Safety Training certification or equivalent.
• Ability to recognize hazards and mitigate using proper tools and procedures.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Ability to identify energized sources to create a safe working condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform site testing, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and energized electrical work with safety first.
• Prepare timely, accurate documentation and required reports.
• Collaborate with Technicians and Trainees on job tasks.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and onsite SE technicians.
• Support third party repairs and repowers with technical assistance.

Job Description Summary: The Technical Service Technician level 2 is responsible for supporting PV corrective maintenance and repairs, on SE projects as well as supporting third party repairs and repowers with technical support. This role is located full-time on a jobsite in the Western Region and will require travel. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform site testing, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and energized electrical work strictly adhering to company and industry safety standards
• Ensure a safe working environment through strict adherence to and enforcement of company and industry safety standards
• Understand, follow and communicate safety regulations and work procedures
• Prepare timely and accurate documentation and required reports
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned
• Complete a job with the assistance of Technicians and Trainees
• Able to work on various jobs simultaneously
• Communicate effectively with teammates and onsite SE technicians

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent
• Ability to travel 80% of time
• Valid NFPA 70e Safety Training certification or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to recognize work hazards and mitigate using proper tools and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to work alone and safety under any conditions
• Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues including fiber optic cables
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and symbols
• Ability to identify and isolate an energized electrical source to create a safe working condition
• Effective computer operation skills
• Effective verbal and written English language communication skills
• Effective organizational skills
• Ability to provide detailed list of items needed for estimates and project bids (such as materials, manpower hours, and timelines)
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)
• Ability to work on an "on call" basis (may include weekends or after-hours situations)
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicle
• Confined Space – Entrant/Attendant/Supervisor
• CPR/First Aid training
• Be able to pass SE safety second training and if possible, substation switch person training
• Equipment operator training and certifications
• Basic metal fabrication skills

• Knowledge of the following equipment, as well as use a computer to do the following tests: Ground Fault locator Fiber optic testers IV Curve tracer IR Camera and thermography Various cable crimping tools such as String wire and Feeder wire crimpers and termination requirements Digital Multimeter (1500V) 1kV Megger Huck tools for tracker repairs and installation 5/10KV Megger Oil Test Set

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Occasional exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, vibration, dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 or more lbs. Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perception Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high, exposed, or difficult to access places The noise intensity level may be high Working on or near lifts and other machines Working near medium and high voltage Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
