Job summary

Arktura LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, seeks a Technical Services Specialist to provide technical expertise and field support for Arktura systems, advising customers, contractors, and internal teams on product specs and installation methods.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will deliver practical installation solutions, support training, and give actionable feedback to product development and engineering teams to drive project success.

Qualifications

  • Experience in field installation support for architectural products.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication for training and customer-facing situations.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert on installation methods, product applications, and system performance.
  • Provides pre- and post-sale technical support to sales teams, customers, contractors, and project managers.
  • Analyzes installation challenges and recommends practical, cost-effective solutions in field and office environments.
  • Reviews shop drawings, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure constructability and product alignment.
  • Delivers training to internal teams, contractors, and customers on system installation and best practices.
  • Supports product development and continuous improvement by identifying field issues, trends, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Participates in job site visits to troubleshoot issues, validate installation methods, and support project success.
  • Assists in resolving claims, complaints, and field performance issues.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to support project execution and customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Specialist provides technical expertise and field support for Arktura systems by advising customers, contractors, and internal teams on product specifications, installation methods, and issue resolution. The incumbent contributes to successful project execution and sales growth by delivering practical installation solutions, supporting training efforts, and providing actionable feedback to product development and engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

What will make you successful
Architectural Product/Installation Support
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, installation instructions, and assembly details.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices, installation methods, and jobsite coordination.
  • Hands-on ability to troubleshoot product installation, fit, finish, alignment, and system performance issues.
  • Understanding of architectural products (ceilings, walls, facades, specialty systems).
Lighting/Electrical Technical Support
  • Familiarity with lighting systems and controls, including:
  • DMX, DALI, 0–10V, TRIAC, ELV
  • LED drivers and power supplies
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and lighting control documentation.
  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements.
  • General understanding of manufacturing and product application in the built environment.
