Delta Electronics Americas in Houston, TX is seeking a Technical Service Engineer to commission, maintain, and repair cooling systems in data centers. You will travel to client sites, ensure equipment operates efficiently, and deliver high-quality service that maximizes customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field, proven HVAC/refrigeration experience, and ability to read drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, HVAC Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in servicing HVAC/refrigeration/cooling systems.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical components.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work independently.

• Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports.

• Manage spare parts, tools, and equipment efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high service quality standards.

About the role:

The Technical Service Engineer is responsible for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing cooling Technical Service Engineer systems in the data center. The role involves traveling to client sites, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and delivering high-quality service to maximize customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, HVAC Technology, or related field
• Proven experience in servicing HVAC/refrigeration/cooling systems
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and control systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical components
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel frequently and work independently

Working Conditions:

• Frequent travel to customer sites (regional/national)
• On-call availability for emergency support
• Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and environmental hazards (with required PPE provided)
• Hands-on experience in servicing cooling products (HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, cooling towers, or similar equipment)
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, and control systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and technical manuals
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification or relevant trade license
• Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, EPA, F-Gas, etc.)
