Job summary
Equipment & Controls, Inc. seeks a Technical Sales Consultant to partner with Account Managers, Inside Sales, and Engineering to identify and develop automation opportunities.
You will translate customer needs into practical, commercially viable solutions and guide proposals from discovery to handoff for execution. The role emphasizes customer-facing pre-sales work without performing detailed project engineering, requiring the ability to define requirements, architectures, and value propositions
Qualifications
- Five or more years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls, systems integration, or a related technical field.
- Experience with PLC platforms such as DeltaV PLC, PAC systems or other PLCs.
- Demonstrated experience architecting PLC-based systems.
- Ability to discuss PLC applications across multiple industrial markets.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and advance PLC and automation sales opportunities with Account Managers.
- Participate in customer site visits and front-end engineering activities.
- Develop preliminary control-system architectures and lead pre-sales meetings.
- Translate customer requirements into technical assumptions and solution concepts.
- Coordinate with teams to develop BOMs, estimates, and technical deliverables.
