Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Technical Project Manager 2 for the Los Alamos Remote Site, located in Richland, Washington. The TPM 2 oversees technical scope, ensuring timely completion of the project elements, and manages deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks with the project team.

Reporting to the Manager of Projects, you will align work with DOE/NNSA requirements and provide guidance to cross‑functional teams in a nuclear environment. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent.
• Prior nuclear facility and/or laboratory experience is required.
• Experience supporting active decontamination and decommissioning in a DOE/NNSA setting.
• Experience working under NQA-1 requirements in a nuclear facility environment.
• Extensive experience working compliantly within strict nuclear security and classification environments.
• Active Q clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage discrete technical construction scope and ensure timely completion of project elements.
• Define and manage project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks; lead the project team as needed.
• Support, and at times lead, planning, tracking, and turnover from initiation through turnover.
• Ensure alignment with Triad’s prime contract, NNSA, and DOE 413.3B requirements.

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) 2 supports and manages discrete technical construction scope, ensuring timely completion of all project elements. This role oversees technical requirements; defines and manages project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks; and supports, while at times leading, the project team in planning, tracking, and executing the scope from initiation through turnover.

TPM 2 manages project activities in alignment with Triad's prime contract, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and Department of Energy (DOE) 413.3B requirements. Work is organized into control accounts and corresponding work packages that define tasks necessary to meet programmatic objectives. TPM 2 reports to the Manager of Projects (MOP) and is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational management of an assigned project/program area. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, and standards related to construction and work execution within a nuclear facility. The role also supports development and monitoring of program budgets and provides technical guidance to project teams, support departments, and matrixed resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation


• Prior nuclear facility and/or laboratory experience is required


• Recent and relevant experience supporting active decontamination and decommissioning (D&D), construction, testing, and turnover in a DOE and/or NNSA setting


• Experience working under NQA-1 requirements in a nuclear facility environment


• Extensive experience working compliantly within strict nuclear security and classification environments


• Active Q clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior construction experience, particularly supporting work in a nuclear facility


• Experience with work planning and controls in a DOE or NNSA nuclear facility environment


• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across construction, operations, radiological control, criticality safety, nuclear safety, occupational safety, and other support organizations


• Strong communication, coordination, and project execution skills in highly regulated nuclear security and classification environments.
