Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager in McLean, VA to lead the full life cycle of solution development and delivery.

You will provide Agile project management and Scrum Master support for Agile teams, remove blockers, and coach the Product Owner to ensure backlog refinement and prioritization. The ideal candidate has ~8 years of tactical project management experience in technical environments, excellent communication, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

• Approximately 8 years of experience in tactical project management of highly technical initiatives.
• Strong judgment, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Experience as a technical project manager.
• Experience working in a complex engineering environment.
• Ability to establish trust with a variety of stakeholders and customers.

• Handle challenging client situations and provide technical/business guidance to executives.

Overview

Steampunk is seeking a Technical Project Manager who is creative and is a hands-on expert with delivering innovative technology solutions. This individual will perform asleadership for the complete life cycle of solution development and delivery, providing Agile Project Management support and Scrum Master support for Agile teams.

Contributions

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain successful/results-oriented relationships with the client, as well as identify and pursue new opportunities with existing client.
• Develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, manage remote project delivery team, and possess the ability to facilitate technical discussions to troubleshoot project implementation issues.
• Assess the current organization and delivery environment and recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client.
• Provide the Agile Scrum Master support. Attend Agile ceremonies and provide input as needed.
• Remove blockers to ensure project success.
• Coach the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
• Handle challenging client situations and offer technical and business guidance and direction to client executives.
• Lead and manage staff, monitor staff performance.
• Evaluate project feasibility, eliminate non-productive tasking, and find creative ways to ensure project delivery and if feasible accelerate delivery.
• Assist staff with training needs to create skills expansion and career advancement opportunities.

Preferred:

• A degree in Information Technology or related field.

The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $175,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
