Technical Program Manager – Manufacturing Readiness (ID 817)
Location: Broomfield, CO.

We are looking for a Sr. Technical Project Engineer to work with technical teams and collaborators on the development of next‑generation quantum systems. A successful candidate will have a prior technical background in a related field and experience in technical program management, applying program management principles to cutting‑edge research.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed schedules, budgets, resource needs, and work plans for technical deliverables on complex, multi‑faceted R&D and Product Engineering programs.
- Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with technical teams on commercial development projects. Serve as connective tissue to organize and coordinate with multiple technical teams.
- Lead regular project reviews and status meetings to determine progress and address any questions, challenges, or risks regarding projects.
- Ensure timely and effective communication of strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress between technical teams, partners, product management, and leadership.
- Manage execution of the annual plan throughout the year by working with technical teams, asset management, materials management, and finance.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate schedule or develop needed technologies. Coordinate gathering requirements, drafting statements of work, and evaluation of potential new projects.
- Lead meetings for large technical trades, critical decisions, and end‑of‑task retrospectives.
- Improve program management process for budgeting, planning, milestone and schedule tracking, risk management, change tracking, and lessons learned.
- Drive execution of complex development programs for on‑schedule completion to maintain technology and product roadmaps while managing a sustainable workflow pace.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree minimum.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in milestone‑driven technical program management and coordination for delivery of research and development hardware to internal technical customers.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) and manufacturing risk assessments.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with manufacturing and quality metrics (yield, capacity, throughput, etc.).
- Due to contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status).
- Due to national security requirements, candidates who are People's Republic of China nationals or Russian nationals are not eligible unless also U.S. citizens.
Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Understanding of configuration management.
- Prior experience delivering first‑of‑a‑kind projects and products.
- Comfortable applying project management practices to the ambiguity of R&D projects.
- Prior experience with tooling, equipment, workforce, facility, materials planning, lead times and MRP.
- Capital project management experience.
- Supplier management experience.
- Strong bias to action, attention to detail, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong familiarity with project management, development, and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Slack, MS365 suite, Smartsheets, and Microsoft Project.
- Prior experience using waterfall, lean, agile, or Kanban program management methodologies and tailoring practices to get the best results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with micro‑device technologies for quantum computing systems.
- Experience working in a high‑level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
- Experience working with remote teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this role is $130,000 – $150,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
