Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
Integrated Capacity Group is the single orderer of compute and storage quota and the operator of shared and dedicated Flex resource pools across Technical Infrastructure, Core, Search, Platforms and Devices, Geo. We are hiring a Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end capacity planning, forecasting, and supply fulfillment for dedicated resources.
Unlike large shared pools where workloads statistically multiplex across tens of thousands of machines, dedicated security-isolated pools require tight cluster-level hardware planning across failure domains, machine platforms, data center power constraints, and cross-product area quota conversions.
In this role, you will build the forecasting and supply engine for these dedicated pools and specialty dedicated infrastructure. You will replace ad-hoc spreadsheets with automated demand models, translate multi-quarter service migrations into physical machine orders and shared-to-dedicated quota exchanges, validate power feasibility, and drive annual planning and budget escalations. Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry.
