Job summary

Google seeks a Technical Program Manager I for Capacity Planning in Google Cloud to lead multi-disciplinary projects from requirements to delivery. You’ll align capacity plans with product roadmaps, work with Product Managers, TpMs, Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance, and communicate tradeoffs to both executives and engineers.

The role focuses on capacity planning across EVT to Post GA stages, ensuring availability and efficiency to meet demand at scale and contribute to GCP revenue

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • Experience in supply planning, demand planning or capacity planning.
  • Experience in SQL and data modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Managers and TpMs to align Capacity plans with Product roadmaps across the full product lifecycle.
  • Analyze customer signals and historical data to refine capacity projections and identify risks or opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed supply plans for an 18-month horizon to meet forecasted demand.
  • Monitor and manage supply chain risks and drive mitigation during allocation/constraints.
  • Improve planning processes and tools to enhance availability and efficiency.

Experience completing work as directed, and collaborating with teammates; developing knowledge of relevant concepts and processes.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • Experience in supply planning, demand planning or capacity planning.
  • Experience in SQL and data modeling.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Engineering, Capacity Planning or other relevant field.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in data modeling, trend analysis, forecasting, or business insights.
  • Experience with data center hardware technology and data center capacity planning and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated operational and leadership experience across automation and process initiatives. Track record of change management success across capacity planning, resource management and delivery, new product introduction, supply chain management, and/or infrastructure deployment.
  • Experience running large programs and managing cross-functional teams. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Product Managers and TpMs to align Capacity plans with Product roadmaps. Collaborate to develop and own the comprehensive capacity plans for new products across the entire product lifecycle (EVT, DVT, PVT, Preview and Post GA).
  • Analyze customer signals, and historical data to refine capacity projections and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed supply plans through a 18 month horizon to ensure the availability of components and finished goods to meet forecasted demand.
  • Monitor and manage supply chain risks. Drive mitigation strategy and prioritization during allocation/constraints.
  • Improve planning processes and tools to enhance availability and efficiency.
