Job Summary

The Technical Program Manager will lead programs for the facility developing milestone plans, identifying required resources, providing cadence to ensure customer milestones are met and internal targets are achieved. They will champion the deployment of APQP process in the facility. Expected to continuously improve performance through best practice identification, formulation, validation, documentation, communication, and deployment. They will lead lessons learned process for each completed project, communicate and ensure best practice is embedded in facility and Business Unit processes.

Note: The Technical Program Manager will report to the Hampton Structural Casting Plant Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the Investment Casting process and the major customer specifications required on the parts produced.
  • Working knowledge of at least two of the three major alloy systems for Structural Products: Aluminum, Superalloy, and Titanium.
  • Work with the Engineering Manager at the Hampton site to:
    • Develop processes needed to produce parts at the required quality and lowest cost possible.
    • Support recruitment and development of Engineering team.
    • Work with the Research Center to develop needed technological advances to meet customer requirements.
    • Identify and assist in implementing the technology and manufacturing best practices for Titanium structural castings.
    • Act as the Technical Expert for the site as required for customer interactions.
    • Collaborate with the structural casting plants to meet the Corporation goals for scrap and rework reduction.
  • Remain current on technology trends affecting current and potential new markets.
  • Build credibility with key resources both internally and externally.
  • Partner with the Corporate Sales/Marketing team to establish/prioritize target customers, programs, and parts through technology-based value proposition.
  • Ensure compliance with Howmet Aerospace business conduct policies, programs and standards.
  • Drive and influence change where needed to support execution of overall strategy.

Salary

Anticipated Pay Range: $135k - $150k per year. Pay rates within this range are determined and based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the manufacturing of Investment Castings with some level of plant operational management.
  • Experience in producing castings in at least two of the following alloy groups – Aluminum, Superalloy, or Titanium.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a cross functional and improvement teams.
  • Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with all levels of the Howmet organization.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items; employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills in support of business planning, strategy development/deployment, relationship management and conflict resolution.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel and PowerPoint).
