Job summary

Peak Energy in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Technical Program Manager for the ESS team to drive development and deployment of sodium-ion energy storage systems.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage scope, schedule, and risk, and align stakeholders from engineering, product, supply chain, and operations to deliver reliable storage solutions that enable renewable energy growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in the battery or energy storage industry.
  • Strong technical background in battery energy storage systems, including familiarity with battery chemistries, energy management systems, and grid integration technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation.

Responsibilities

About the Role - Technical Program Manager, ESS

Peak Energy is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and play a crucial role in driving the development and deployment of our sodium ion based large-scale energy storage systems. This role will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and efficient energy storage solutions that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to the advancement of renewable energy storage.

What You'll Do ( Responsibilities )
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of energy storage system projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with many cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, product management, supply chain, and operations teams to define project scope, objectives, and requirements, and develop comprehensive project plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners, to drive alignment, achieve project goals, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall project execution capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to battery energy storage systems, and integrate relevant insights into project planning and execution.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is $170,000-$225,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills.
