Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Technical Program Manager for EE Systems to own the electrical distribution program scope on vehicle programs with external engineering partners. You will own the RASIC, change flow, milestone plan, and weekly status for EE; the harness technical lead handles engineering content while you own the program.

You will coordinate EE work packages, drive risk assessment and change management, and ensure release control across CAD toolchains.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in technical program management, systems engineering, or engineering management in automotive with direct ownership of electrical distribution systems or vehicle electrical architecture scope.
  • Experience managing external engineering partners, engineering service providers, or Tier 1 development partners across time zones with quarterly international travel and early-morning Pacific calls.
  • Fluent in engineering change management and PLM workflows: change requests, change actions, EBOM release, and drawing release control.
  • Comfort operating without a settled org chart or fully defined scope; ability to push decisions and communicate schedule/risk to engineers and executives.
  • Proven track record in low voltage harness design and release within OEM or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with risk analysis tools (FTA, FMEA) and root-cause methodologies (8D, Fishbone).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central EE coordination function for the program — the single Zoox contact for all electrical scope and the partner's E/E lead — owning the EE portion of the engineering RASIC from concept through industrialization.
  • Drive low-voltage harness and EDS impact assessment and change management, gap analysis of partner designs against Zoox EDS best practices, and convert findings into tracked change requests.
  • Manage cross-company engineering data exchange and release control, including CAD toolchain/version compatibility; ensure Zoox retains configuration and release control of LV harness drawings; work with Sourcing and Supplier Quality on build-to-print readiness.
  • Coordinate the full set of EE work packages — antenna integration, vehicle-level EMC verification, E/E integration and regression testing, thermal validation, and electrical mounting hardware.
  • Build and maintain the EE milestone plan against program gates and material dates; surface risk early with recovery options; publish weekly program updates and prepare EE content for exec/gate reviews.

Job description

Zoox is developing a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for our cities. As a Technical Program Manager in EE Systems, you will own the electrical and electrical-distribution program scope on vehicle programs that Zoox executes jointly with external engineering partners.

You will own the RASIC, the change flow, the milestone plan, and the weekly truth about where EE stands. The harness technical lead owns the engineering content; you own the program.

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the central EE coordination function for your program — the single Zoox point of contact for all electrical scope and the counterpart to the partner's E/E lead — and own the EE portion of the engineering RASIC from concept through industrialization
  • Drive low-voltage harness and EDS impact assessment and change management, running gap analysis of partner-proposed designs against Zoox EDS design best practices and lessons learned, and converting findings into tracked change requests
  • Manage cross-company engineering data exchange and release control, including CAD toolchain and version incompatibility between Zoox and its partners; ensure Zoox retains configuration and release control of LV harness drawings, and work with Sourcing and Supplier Quality on build-to-print readiness
  • Coordinate the full set of EE work packages — antenna integration, vehicle-level EMC verification, E/E integration and regression testing, thermal validation, and electrical mounting hardware — pulling in the responsible Zoox module owners and holding them to dates
  • Build and hold the EE milestone plan against program gates and material required dates, surfacing risk early with a recovery option rather than a red status; publish a concise weekly program update and prepare EE content for executive and gate reviews
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in technical program management, systems engineering, or engineering management in automotive, with direct ownership of electrical distribution systems or vehicle electrical architecture scope
  • Experience managing external engineering partners, engineering service providers, or Tier 1 development partners across time zones — including negotiating scope boundaries and holding a partner to committed deliverables; approximately quarterly international travel and recurring early-morning Pacific calls
  • Working fluency in engineering change management and PLM workflows: change requests, change actions, EBOM release, and drawing release control
  • Comfort operating without a settled org chart or a fully defined scope, the judgment to force decisions rather than wait for them, and the ability to communicate schedule and risk clearly to both engineers and executives
  • Proven track record in low voltage harness design and release, gained within an OEM or major automotive manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with risk analysis tools (FTA, FMEA) and root-cause methodologies (8D, Fishbone analysis, etc.)
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Hands-on familiarity with CATIA (V5 and V6) and data exchange between mismatched OEM and supplier CAD toolchains
  • Knowledge of wire harness design and validation standards (USCAR, IPC/WHMA-A-620) and vehicle EMC standards (CISPR 25)

$193,000 - $231,000 a year
