Job summary

Equal1 is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead cryomechanical and quantum system integration initiatives. You will oversee research, development, prototype production, and delivery of in-house cryogenic cooler technology and integrated quantum computing systems.

This cross-functional role demands extensive program management experience, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of complex scientific or advanced engineering equipment development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technical program management within hardware, semiconductor, or scientific equipment environments.
• Strong understanding of assembly, manufacturing, and integration processes.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes and suppliers.
• Experience with BOM structures, PLM systems, and documentation control.
• Experience with NPI, production ramp, and customer readiness.
• Highly organized, structured, and able to coordinate across teams and timelines.
• Strong communication and leadership skills in fast-paced technical contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of cryomechanical and quantum system integration programs from R&D to prototype delivery.
• Build and maintain program plans with timelines, owners, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables.
• Conduct critical path analysis, identify bottlenecks, communicate risks, and resolve resource conflicts.
• Coordinate work across hardware, cryomechanical, systems engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Support supply chain and component management including long-lead items and BOM readiness.
• Support BOM, PLM, documentation control, and configuration management activities.
• Support NPI, production ramp, and customer support readiness.
• Coordinate certification activities (FCC, CE, UL, etc.) and provide status reporting.
