Job description

Technical Program Manager- BIM(CAD)-PLM, Data Center Lifecycle Configuration (DCLC)

Job ID: 10532087 | Amazon Data Services, Inc.

The Technical Program Manager III, BIM-PLM Integration, owns data intake for new DC design products within Design Services - serving as the primary gatekeeper who evaluates designs for BOM translatability, collaborates on Engineering changes and ad hoc business requests, and drives end-to-end product introduction from concept through PLM registration and BOM integration. Works across Design Engineering, collaborates with BIM Design Managers and BOM Program leads, and owns process and governance development for the CAD-to-PLM pipeline - establishing clear handoffs across BIM and PLM. Scope spans CAD/BIM extraction and auditing, PLM data structuring, design change categorization and intake, ECO/ECR management, cross-functional synchronization, BOM QA across procurement systems, and global standardization. Ideal Candidate: A bridge between BIM requirements and PLM with firm understanding of Revit/BIM and data-centric processes, knowledge of DC electrical and mechanical equipment (power distribution, cooling, switchgear, PDUs, rack infrastructure), and experience maintaining a data program built on BIM data extraction at scale. Amazon Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all Amazon global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all Amazon data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across Amazon to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities
  • CAD/BIM Data Extraction & Model Governance: Extract and validate Engineering BOMs from native CAD/BIM models - auditing parametric readiness, structuring facility sub-assemblies (MEP/HVAC, power), and ensuring metadata fidelity into PLM.
  • Data Governance & Process Development: Define and enforce data standards (shared parameters), author governance frameworks and SOPs for the CAD-to-PLM pipeline, and drive continuous process improvement using cycle-time data to reduce rework and strengthen data integrity.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) - Drive end-to-end product introduction through NPI phase-gates, evaluating incoming DC designs for BOM translatability and routing by complexity from initial design evaluation through PLM registration, BOM structuring, and operational handoff.
  • Design Intake & Impact Analysis - Own the single intake point for new DC designs, equipment categories, and engineering intercepts. Classify incoming changes by type, scope, and BOM impact; conduct cross-system ripple analysis across power, cooling, structural, and networking domains; and maintain an intake registry from concept through PLM registration.
Basic Qualifications
  • 6+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Deep knowledge of BOM management - including BOM hierarchy design, 150% BOM architecture, configuration logic, BOM derivation pipelines (Engineering BOM -> Manufacturing BOM), and the end-to-end lifecycle from creation through maintenance, deprecation, and obsolescence
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Autodesk Revit, including family authoring, shared parameters, and model management
  • Proven track record of building quality assurance frameworks that prevent downstream errors in complex data ecosystems
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Expert-level Revit family authoring - parametric modeling, adaptive components, nested families, type catalogs
  • Familiar with data center infrastructure programs.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) frameworks, PDCA methodology, and ISO 9001 principles applied to engineering data governance
