Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. in Irving, TX seeks a Technical Program Manager to lead AI/ML-oriented programs that bridge hardware and software with regulatory constraints. Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience applying AI to practical uses.
• 5+ years of Technical Program Management on deep-tech products involving AI/ML and data pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience with ML-based products including metrics-driven evaluation.
• 5+ years of strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with external partner organizations to drive shared outcomes for Rivian (note: as per ad context, Rivian appears in responsibilities; if not applicable, this line can be interpreted as collaboration sentence)
• 5+ years of experience with ADAS systems, Robotaxis, and/or Robotics, particularly involving AI/ML models."

Responsibilities

• Lead programs consisting of complex technology projects intersecting hardware, software, and regulatory constraints with emphasis on AI/ML model development, training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
• Own programs, brief leadership on execution, and unblock teams by deep-diving into ML model performance data and training infrastructure.
• Drive tradeoffs to maximize timelines, considering ML iteration speed, data annotation pipelines, and compute resource allocation.
• Collaborate with engineering and leadership on design, prototyping, testing, and training of AI/ML solutions.
• Advise leaders on AI/ML technology, strategy, and policy issues.
• Present options with clear points of view to leadership on ML model readiness and performance trade-offs.
• Mentor fellow TPMs in managing ML-centric programs.

Day to Day job Duties

• Lead programs consisting of complex technology projects, particularly ones that intersect with hardware, software, and regulatory constraints, with a strong emphasis on AI/ML model development, training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
• Exercise strong ownership over programs they lead, including briefing Autonomy leadership on execution and diving into technical details where necessary to unblock the team, especially regarding ML model performance, data requirements, and training infrastructure.
• Drive pragmatic decisions and tradeoffs to maximize probability of hitting critical timelines, considering factors unique to ML projects such as model iteration speed, data annotation pipelines, and compute resource allocation.
• Work with the engineering and leadership teams on the functional design, process design, prototyping, testing, and training of AI/ML solutions
• Advise leaders on technology, strategy, and policy issues related to AI/ML
• Manage ambiguity by presenting options with a clear point of view for leadership, particularly concerning ML model readiness, evaluation metrics, and performance trade-offs.
• Understand the role of TPM as an insider/outsider, someone who drives accountability through influence and soft power rather than hard power and authority, effectively influencing teams working on ML algorithms, data platforms, and simulation environments.
• Mentor other TPMs on the team and help them grow their craft as TPMs, sharing expertise in managing ML-centric technical programs.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience applying AI to practical uses
• 5 + years of experience in Technical Program Management on deep-tech products or equivalent, specifically managing programs involving AI/ML components and data pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience with ML-based products including evaluation with metrics driven analysis.
• 5+ years of strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate to external partner organizations to drive shared outcomes for Rivian, especially when collaborating on data sharing, model deployment, or platform integration related to AI/ML.
• 5+ years of experience with ADAS systems, Robotaxis, and/or Robotics, particularly involving the integration and management of complex AI/ML models.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in areas relevant to AI/ML.
• Certification/ course on Data Architect/Data Science from any reputed institute/ portal
