Job summary

Momentus is seeking a Technical Program Manager in San Jose, CA to lead spacecraft programs from proposal through launch. You will organize major roles, establish budgets and schedules, and monitor progress to baseline plans in a fast-paced environment.

You will balance program risks and opportunities with executable strategies, manage resources, and drive continual improvement while meeting technical and budget requirements. Hybrid/Remote work options are available.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of spacecraft programs covering proposal development through launch.
  • Analyze contractual requirements, estimate costs/time, identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the Program Master Schedule across the full project lifecycle.
  • Oversee Program Master Budgets and Risks, Issues and Opportunities.
  • Ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance align with contract milestones.
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate staff as needed.
  • Develop and implement cohesive program plans from proposals.
  • Track progress and drive corrective actions.
  • Use earned value, risk, slack, and critical path for program management.
  • Assess situations quickly and make proactive decisions.
  • Plan resource allocation with department managers.
  • Oversee risk burndown and continuous process improvement.
  • Strategize and maintain program initiatives aligned with company objectives.
  • Provide weekly metrics to progress.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support our Spacecraft Programs and will identify needed resources for projects, define and assign major program roles, lead the establishment of and sets integrated based budget and schedule baselines, and monitor work accomplished to baseline plans to ensure rate of work completion is sufficient to meet program/product schedules.The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working onthe balance between program risks and opportunities with executable strategies to meet technical requirements and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for execution of spacecraft programs that cover the entire program lifecycle – proposal development, kickoff, development, test,buildand launch
  • Lead analysis of contractual requirements, prepare cost and time estimates, andidentifyassociated risks & opportunities during business development and major program phases.
  • Manage Program Master Schedule for the spacecraft program that span kick off through Launch Mission Operations
  • Manage Program Master Budgets and Risks, Issues and Opportunities
  • The ability to manage cost, schedule, financial, and technical performance requirements to ensure performance in support of the contract milestones of the system technical requirements
  • Identifieswhen issues need to be escalated and alertappropriate staffwithin the organization and programs
  • Ability to use proposal plans and strategies to implement executable, cohesive program plans
  • Experienceidentifyingissues, tracking progress, and following through with effective corrective actions plan
  • Experiencemanaging programs using program schedules, earned value, risks, slack time, and critical path
  • Ability to quickly assess a situation and make sound, proactive decisions
  • Plan for resource allocation needs and work with Department Managers for staffing
  • Oversee execution and burndown of Program Risks
  • Continuous process improvement within the program management organization
  • Strategize, implement, andmaintainprogram initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
  • Provide weekly metrics to progress
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in aerospace or related industry
  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft design and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of JIRA, MSProjector related tools
  • Knowledge of systems engineering best practices
Education & Work Experience:
  • BS, MS degree in engineering, or related field
  • 10+ year relevant experience managing complex programs where precision and attention to detail are critical to success
  • Strong technicalexpertise
Compensation:

Annual Base Salary Range: $180,000 to $215,000/per year

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and isdeterminedwithin a range. Your actual base salary will bedeterminedon job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Ourbenefitplansincludemedical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan,short and long termdisability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.

This is a full-time position in San Jose, California,Hybrid, or Remote. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, andservices. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) isrequired.
