Job summary

AARP is seeking a Technical Product Manager to shape the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of digital products and platforms. You will translate enterprise goals and member needs into scalable product solutions in partnership with business stakeholders and digital teams.

You will lead discovery, define goals and requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable value while leveraging analytics and AI-enabled capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of product management, technical product management, digital products, or related technology-focused role.
  • Experience developing and managing product strategies, roadmaps, and lifecycles for digital products, platforms, or technology solutions.
  • Strong experience in product discovery, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement using analytics and trends.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into product requirements, user stories, and delivery plans for cross-functional teams.

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of digital products, platforms, or shared capabilities. This role translates enterprise goals, member needs, and technical opportunities into scalable technical product solutions that deliver measurable value, in partnership with business stakeholders and digital teams.

Responsibilities
  • Owns the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of assigned technical products and capabilities, ensuring alignment with portfolio priorities, member needs, and business objectives.
  • Leads technical product discovery activities, leveraging member insights, data, stakeholder feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for technical product enhancement and innovation.
  • Partners with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define product goals, requirements, and success measures by effectively communicating technical product priorities, tradeoffs, progress, and outcomes.
  • Prioritizes technical product enhancements and backlog items by balancing member value, business impact, technical feasibility, risk, and delivery considerations.
  • Defines and maintains technical product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation that enable effective delivery and execution.
  • Monitors technical product performance and adoption metrics, identifying opportunities to improve technical product effectiveness, member experience, and business value.
  • Leverages modern technical product management tools, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve product discovery, decision-making, productivity, and delivery outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, digital products, or a related technology-focused role.
  • Proven experience developing and managing product strategies, roadmaps, and full product lifecycles for digital products, platforms, or technology solutions.
  • Strong experience in product discovery, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement, leveraging user insights, analytics, and market trends to identify opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience prioritizing product backlogs and making trade‑off decisions based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, risk, and delivery constraints.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience monitoring product performance, adoption metrics, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and business value.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies, product management tools, analytics platforms, and AI‑enabled technologies, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
