The Technical Product Manager reports to the CTO and is part of the broader product management team. With a strong engineering background, this role plays a critical part in evaluating the technical feasibility of new product ideas and innovations. The Technical Product Manager collaborates with both technical and commercial teams to ensure products are technically sound and aligned with market needs. This role requires a strong technical mindset and keen commercial acumen to balance product development complexities with market demands.

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Evaluate Technical Feasibility:

• Assess the technical viability of new product ideas by working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams.

• Determine whether concepts can be realistically developed and brought to market considering technical limitations, costs, and resources.

1. Collaboration with Product Managers:

• Work alongside other product managers focusing on commercial and market needs to develop comprehensive product briefs and strategies.

• Provide technical insights to integrate both technical and business perspectives into the product development process.

1. Product Brief Creation:

• Develop detailed product briefs outlining technical requirements, specifications, and features necessary for successful product development.

• Ensure all technical aspects are clearly documented.

1. Research & Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth technical, manufacturing, and market research to inform decision-making.

• Analyze trends, competitor products, and technological advancements to identify innovation opportunities.

1. Business Case Development:

• Collaborate with the Commercial Product Manager on business case development.

• Lead technical aspects of the business case, providing analysis to support investments, cost structures, and ROI estimations.

1. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Facilitate communication across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on technical and market objectives.

1. Curate Product Ideas:

• Participate in maintaining an internal register of product ideas, helping prioritize based on technical feasibility, market needs, and strategic fit.

1. Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

• Serve as the technical expert for product development and implementation queries.

1. Support Product Lifecycle:

• Oversee technical aspects from ideation through launch and post-launch evaluation.

1. Health and Safety:

• Promote safe and healthy work practices for staff and environmental safety.

• Actively identify, manage, and mitigate risks.
