Job summary

Octave is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead platform, AI/ML, and domain-specific solutions for industrial B2B use cases. You will partner with global teams to define end-to-end product roadmaps, drive velocity, and ensure safe, auditable deployments in regulated environments.

You will translate complex engineering work into customer value, shape the product strategy, and influence stakeholders across engineering, product, and commercial teams to advance platform capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in technical product management or product ownership role for industrial B2B software, working with global and cross-functional teams, ideally in platform space.
  • Building new products, not only improving existing ones — taking a solution from concept to launch.
  • Defining and shipping AI or ML-powered products at enterprise scale.
  • Domain expertise in one or more of Octave's core verticals: EPC/EPCM, energy & utilities owner-operators, or public safety/infrastructure.
  • Shipped production AI to users — including the evaluation, quality, and safety work of putting a model in front of customers.
  • Use of AI tools and workflows for day-to-day technical product management tasks.
  • Technical depth to be a credible partner to engineering — agent frameworks, retrieval and knowledge graphs, model-agnostic architectures, evaluations, and how workflows are built from agents and agents from skills.
  • Can carry a technical narrative to customers and executives.
  • Effective at getting teams to work together without managing them

Responsibilities

  • Define and build net-new platform solutions end-to-end — requirements, acceptance criteria, backlog; domain knowledge and evaluations.
  • Build domain-specific solutions with product teams — platform craft and vertical packaging.
  • Coordinate templates, reference workflows, and shared practices for repeatable platform solutions.
  • Grow the library of agents, domain knowledge, and workflow patterns across the platform.
  • Make autonomy and safety calls for production-ready solutions in regulated environments.
  • Feed the platform roadmap by communicating requirements to capability PMs.
  • Support commercialization with pricing, packaging, and go-to-market.
  • Equip delivery with reference workflows and templates for onboarding customers.

Job description

  • Define and build the net-new solutions: identify the use cases the platform makes possible, validate them with prototypes and customer evidence, prioritize the ones worth building, and lead the build end to end — requirements, acceptance criteria, and backlog; the applied domain knowledge, developed with industry experts; and the evaluations that prove an agent does the job well.
  • Build the domain-specific solutions with the product teams: bring the platform-solution craft — agent-based workflows, productization, packaging by vertical — while the team brings its domain, and drive the work to a productized, out-of-the-box platform solution.
  • Coordinate and enable the product teams in that work — the templates, reference workflows, and shared practices that make building a platform solution repeatable rather than reinvented each time.
  • Grow the library of agents, domain knowledge, and workflow patterns that accumulates as solutions ship — the platform's compounding asset — and make it available to the teams building on the platform.
  • Make the autonomy and safety calls. These solutions run in regulated, safety-critical operations: decide how much an agent does on its own, design the human oversight and audit trail around it, and judge when it's ready for production.
  • Feed the platform roadmap: the solutions in progress define what the platform must provide next, and this role carries those requirements to the capability product managers and teams — and, as one of the most critical users of the shared build environment, back into that environment itself.
  • Support commercialization with the commercial product lead, who owns pricing, packaging, and go-to-market — bringing the technical and domain substance behind what ships, and representing the solutions with customers as the technical authority.
  • Equip the delivery organization with reference workflows, templates, and domain knowledge, so customer onboarding is configuration rather than a bespoke build.

Success measures

Platform solutions in production with customers — net-new and domain-specific alike — delivering measured results, with human oversight and auditability in place.

Domain-specific platform solutions built with the product teams at a steady rate, through work the teams can repeat.

The library of agents and domain knowledge growing with each solution, and in use across the product teams.

Customer onboarding through reference workflows rather than bespoke implementation, with time-to-value improving.
