Job description

Beep is looking for a detail-oriented and technically fluent Technical Product Manager to serve as the connective tissue between our Product and Engineering teams. In this role, you will own the product backlog, drive sprint planning and execution, and manage the release process - ensuring that the right things get built, in the right order, and ship on time. You will be the day-to-day operator in Jira, keeping work organized, priorities clear, and teams aligned. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical development and product delivery and can translate business needs into well-defined requirements that engineers can execute against.

Job Type: Full-time

What You'll Do

  • Own and maintain the product backlog in Jira - managing, refining, and prioritizing epics, features, and tasks in alignment with the product roadmap
  • Manage the product roadmap and epic structure, ensuring epics are well-defined, sequenced, and traceable to business objectives
  • Partner closely with Engineering to ensure user stories are mapped to the correct epics and roadmap initiatives, maintaining alignment between product intent and development execution
  • Facilitate backlog grooming sessions to keep the pipeline of work healthy and sprint-ready
Sprint Execution & Scrum Facilitation
  • Drive sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Track sprint velocity, burndown, and team capacity to keep delivery predictable and sustainable
  • Remove blockers and elevate issues early to keep development on track
  • Maintain accountability for Scrum ceremonies and Agile best practices
Release Management
  • Coordinate and manage the release process from development through staging to production
  • Maintain release notes, changelogs, and version documentation
  • Work with Engineering and QA to define release criteria and ensure quality gates are met before deployment
  • Communicate release timelines, scope, and risks to stakeholders across the organization
  • Create and maintain user-facing How-To guides and feature documentation to support adoption of new functionality across teams
Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Serve as the primary bridge between Product and Engineering - ensuring both sides have shared context and aligned expectations
  • Translate technical constraints and trade-offs into language Product and business stakeholders can act on
  • Surface dependencies, risks, and scope changes proactively so decisions can be made early
  • Partner with QA, DevOps, and other technical teams to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery
Required
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Product Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar role within a software development environment
  • Strong working proficiency in Jira - comfortable configuring boards, workflows, and dashboards, not just creating tickets
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodology and Scrum framework; Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) required
  • Technical fluency—you don’t need to write code, but you need to understand software development lifecycles, APIs, system architecture, and how engineering teams work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a product roadmap and epic hierarchy, with experience aligning engineering work to higher-level product goals
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; comfortable running ceremonies and navigating competing priorities between teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
Nice to Have
  • Experience in the transportation, mobility, or autonomous vehicle industry
  • Experience with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, or similar development and documentation tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
  • Experience managing releases in a production environment with multiple deployment targets
  • Background in a fast-pace startup or high-growth company
  • Comfort using AI tools in day-to-day work - experience with tools like Claude or Claude Code to improve productivity, streamline documentation, or assist with analysis is a plus
What Success Looks Like
  • A clean, well-organized backlog that Product and Engineering both trust as the source of truth
  • Predictable sprint execution with consistent velocity and minimal carryover
  • Smooth, well-communicated releases with clear documentation and minimal production issues
