Elmet Technologies is seeking a Technical Procurement Specialist to strengthen supply lines, qualify suppliers, and manage capital equipment acquisitions across manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Production Planning to optimize total cost and supplier performance.
The role emphasizes hands-on supplier development, risk mitigation, and cross-functional partnerships to enable successful customer programs and production readiness.
Finding a supplier is one thing. Finding the right supplier— with the technical capabilities, capacity, quality, cost structure, and reliability to support advanced manufacturing—is something different. Elmet Technologies is looking for a Technical Procurement Specialist to strengthen critical supply lines, develop supplier capabilities, and support the acquisition of equipment and services across our manufacturing operations.
This position can be based in Euclid, Ohio, Lewiston, Maine, or Coldwater, Michigan.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, you’ll work at the intersection of Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Production Planning. You’ll evaluate suppliers and manufacturing capabilities, analyze total cost, manage capital equipment purchases, and lead sourcing activities supporting new and existing customer programs. This is an opportunity for someone who understands both procurement and manufacturing—and wants to use that expertise to build a stronger, more resilient supply chain.
A bachelor’s or associate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related technical field is preferred.
This isn’t a procurement position disconnected from manufacturing. Understanding supplier capabilities and equipment requirements means understanding how things are actually made. You’ll work directly with manufacturing and technical teams and spend time in factory environments evaluating processes, equipment, capabilities, and requirements.
The position requires direct contact with manufacturing operations, and the original job description notes that factory temperatures can range from approximately 40°F to more than 100°F.
Elmet Technologies is a division of The Elmet Group and a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of precision-engineered products serving global industries, including aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy. Through advanced materials processing and precision manufacturing capabilities, Elmet produces high-performance materials and components for some of the world’s most demanding applications.
Our Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams connect our technical requirements with the suppliers, equipment, materials, and capabilities our manufacturing operations need to perform.
This position may be based in Euclid, Ohio, Lewiston, Maine, or Coldwater, Michigan, providing the opportunity to support sourcing and manufacturing priorities across the broader Elmet organization.
If you understand procurement but also want to understand the equipment, processes, materials, and manufacturing capabilities behind what you’re buying, we’d like to hear from you.
This position may require access to information, technology, or materials subject to U.S. export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
