Technical Operations Systems Specialist II *Multiple Shifts Available* in GAC Savannah

This position supports the Technical Operations Mechanical Team and requires proficiency in the operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of aircraft mechanical and electromechanical systems. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Landing gear
  • Flight controls
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Braking systems
  • Powerplant systems
  • Water/waste systems

The successful candidate must be capable of diagnosing complex technical issues and providing effective corrective actions while ensuring compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of large-cabin aircraft mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Proven troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience supporting aircraft maintenance in a production, service center, or operational environment
Education and Experience Requirements

Position Purpose: The Technical Operations Specialist II is the primary point of contact for internal and external customers and represents Gulfstream's Product Support network for both technical and non-technical situations. Under minimal direction, provides advice and guidance to the company and the customer on installation, service, repair, replacement, modification, and maintenance of Gulfstream aircraft systems and support equipment. Builds customer relationships regarding troubleshooting and solving the entire spectrum of aircraft systems, support equipment, and operational problems pertaining to our in-service product. Conceives, develops, tests, and evaluates new ways to improve the technical support effort.

Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Responds to in-flight emergency calls from operators by coordinating resources (Flight Operations, Engineering, etc.) and providing technical data and guidance during the event.
  2. Interprets general operational/maintenance requirements, independently provides technical consultation to customers, Service Center, Product Support, Field Service Representatives (FSR), Customer Operational Readiness Reps (COR), Engineering, and other internal departments to affect suitable resolutions to various operational conditions.
  3. Conducts in-depth system review to develop troubleshooting plans specific to operator/aircraft needs. Directs and guides customers, Service Center, FSR, and COR Reps on plan implementation and follow-through to Return To Service (RTS).
  4. Directs the exchange of technical data necessary to provide temporary or permanent repair drawings for damaged in-service aircraft in the field.
  5. Reviews, investigates, and responds as required to correspondence received from Gulfstream operators and other agencies. Directing this action includes coordinating the transfer of aircraft components for analysis, providing technical support for that analysis, and providing a course of action based on the results of the analysis to effect a continued improvement of the Gulfstream fleet of in-service aircraft.
  6. Develops, prepares, and updates new and existing troubleshooting procedures and processes for Gulfstream aircraft. Coordinates the development and evaluation of test equipment for use on Gulfstream aircraft.
  7. Determines priorities for handling situations submitted to Technical Operations for action, depending on safety of flight, urgency of the situation, and company policy.
  8. Initiates and prepares customer bulletins, Pub Change Requests (PCR), service news items, letters, RQAAT presentations, and other formal documentation/communication.
  9. Uses Lean methodology to identify and implement improvements to internal processes that will improve group efficiency and increase effectiveness.
  10. Reinforces customer satisfaction, identifies areas of customer frustration, and resolves issues while being an advocate for the customer.
Other Requirements
  • A good understanding of PC and mainframe computer applications including the use of standard computer word processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Word) is a plus.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, technical manuals systems, and aircraft maintenance records system.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license is preferred.

This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
