  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Business Operations or Information Systems.
  • Internship, co-op, project coordination or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations and how teams interact to support production.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and product lifecycle processes; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports launch of software releases and product updates across multiple products and SKUs.
  • Coordinates launch-readiness activities, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Maintains SKUs, item records, BOMs, product configurations, and catalog information.
  • Assists with change-control for launches including labeling, packaging, and regulatory updates.
  • Updates controlled documents and work instructions; reviews inputs for completeness.
  • Supports manufacturing and distribution readiness, including inventory transitions.

Learn more at tandemdiabetes.comA DAY IN THE LIFE:The Technical Operations Specialist I supports software releases, product launches, and sustaining operations across multiple product configurations and SKUs. This entry-level role coordinates implementation activities required to launch software updates, maintain product and SKU information, update controlled documentation, and support product availability across applicable markets and distribution channels. The Specialist works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, and other stakeholders to help ensure launch activities are completed accurately, compliantly, and on schedule.A Technical Operations Specialist I at Tandem also:Supports implementation of software releases and product updates across multiple products, configurations, SKUs, markets, and distribution channels.Coordinates assigned launch-readiness activities, deliverables, dependencies, risks, action items, and implementation timelines.Supports creation, revision, release, and maintenance of SKUs, item records, bills of material, product configurations, and catalog information within approved systems and processes.Assists with change-control activities for software launches, including assessment and implementation of approved documentation, labeling, packaging, manufacturing, and operational changes.Coordinates updates to controlled documents, including work instructions, , labeling, and supporting launch records, as assigned.Reviews launch inputs and product configurations for completeness and consistency; identify discrepancies and escalate issues to the appropriate owner.Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, and other stakeholders to support completion of launch deliverables.Supports manufacturing and distribution readiness activities, including inventory transition, product availability, phase-in and phase-out planning, and post-launch follow-up.Identifies opportunities to standardize launch activities, reduce implementation cycle time, improve data accuracy, and simplify management of multiple SKUs. Perform other duties as assigned.WHERE YOU’LL WORK:On-Site: This role is on-site five days a week at our San Diego Manufacturing Facility due to the nature of the work involved.WHAT YOU’LL NEED:Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred, in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Business Operations, Information Systems, in related field or combination of equivalent education and applicable work experience.Internship, co-op, project coordination, product launch, regulated-industry, data-management, or manufacturing experience, preferred.Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations, including understanding how manufacturing teams interact to support production.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to learn product lifecycle management, enterprise resource planning, document control, and project tracking systems.Basic analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to review product, SKU, and launch information for accuracy.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage assigned activities across multiple concurrent software releases and SKU implementations.Ability to communicate status, risks, dependencies, and technical information clearly in written, one-on-one, and group settings.Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and follow established quality-system and change-control procedures.Adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn software release, product lifecycle, configuration, documentation, and regulatory requirements.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:The starting base pay range for this position is $70,304.00 - $80,000.00 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You’ll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
