Telvero is seeking a Technical MEP Superintendent to lead field operations and coordinate commissioning on large-scale commercial projects in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

The role combines superintendent-level leadership with technical scheduling expertise to develop commissioning plans, evaluate sequencing, and ensure on-time startup across multiple sites from DC to Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial construction experience with superintendent responsibilities.

• Lead daily field coordination meetings to review progress and resolve scheduling challenges.
• Monitor field progress and adjust commissioning schedules as conditions change.
• Proactively resolve trade coordination issues impacting milestones.

Position Overview

Telvero is hiring a Technical MEP Superintendent on behalf of our client, a leading commercial general contractor delivering large-scale construction projects throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

This position combines Superintendent-level field leadership with the technical knowledge and scheduling expertise needed to coordinate MEP commissioning activities on complex commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or electrical construction background and can independently develop commissioning schedules by evaluating construction drawings, master project schedules, and dependencies between trades. This role requires someone who understands construction sequencing, can anticipate scheduling conflicts, and knows how to coordinate with project teams to keep commissioning activities on track. The position will support multiple projects throughout the region, from Washington, DC to Loudoun County, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and master project schedules to independently develop and maintain MEP commissioning schedules.
• Evaluate construction sequencing and dependencies between trades to determine when commissioning activities can realistically occur.
• Identify incomplete prerequisite work, scheduling conflicts, and potential delays impacting system startup, energization, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate equipment startup, electrical energization, testing, balancing, and commissioning activities with MEP trade partners and project leadership.
• Work with Superintendents, project managers, and trade partners to align commissioning activities with overall construction milestones.
• Lead daily field coordination meetings to review progress, resolve scheduling challenges, and maintain accountability.
• Monitor field progress and adjust commissioning schedules to reflect actual construction conditions.
• Proactively resolve trade coordination issues that could impact commissioning milestones.

Required Qualifications

• Significant commercial construction experience, including previous Superintendent or equivalent field leadership responsibilities.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, or MEP construction background working for a general contractor or mechanical/electrical trade contractor.
• Experience supporting major commercial construction projects valued at $100 million or more.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop construction or commissioning schedules using drawings, specifications, and master project schedules.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, trade dependencies, and prerequisites for MEP system startup, testing, balancing, and commissioning.
• Experience coordinating multiple MEP trade partners on complex commercial construction projects.
• Proven ability to lead field meetings, influence trade partners, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite at project locations throughout Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, MEP Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
• Experience on technically complex commercial projects, including data centers, healthcare facilities, airports, or other large-scale developments.
• Experience coordinating commissioning activities from system installation through final testing and project turnover.
• Familiarity with construction scheduling tools and processes. Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera Cloud proficiency is not required.
• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
