Job description

At IQM, we build world-leading quantum computers for the well‑being of humankind. We design systems to tackle computational challenges beyond the practical limits of classical machines. Our work sits at the edge of science and engineering. It’s complex, demanding, and deeply collaborative. We turn deep research into reliable, full‑stack systems that drive discoveries in fields like medicine, energy, and technology, reshaping how the world computes.

Join the team that gives quantum a heartbeat.

The work

IQM is hiring a Technical Marketing Manager to translate the depth of our science and engineering into clear, credible, market‑facing content.

You will work at the intersection of Product, Quantum Solutions, and Marketing, partnering with scientists and engineers to turn system architecture, benchmarks, and customer outcomes into white papers, technical briefs, data‑sheets, presentations, and competitive positioning.

You will also serve as the technical voice in front of customers, partners, and the press when our marketing and PR teams need someone who can hold their own in a room of physicists. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is technical by training and a strong communicator by craft. In this role, you will be the trusted person to deliver complex, highly accurate technical content to our various channels.

What you’ll actually do
  • Translate IQM’s technical capabilities (qubit architecture, calibration, benchmarks, system performance) into customer- and market facing content: white papers, technical briefs, data‑sheets, blog posts, and presentations

  • Partner with Quantum Solutions, Product, Sales and Engineering to develop benchmark studies and performance narratives that hold up under scientific scrutiny

  • Build and maintain technical battlecards and competitive analyses across modalities (superconducting, ion‑trap, neutral‑atom, photonic) and against cloud‑access providers

  • Support sales and pre‑sales with technical collateral, customer pitch content, and ad hoc technical Q&A

  • Product internal enablement materials so the broader sales and marketing organization can speak fluently about the technology

  • Develop messaging for major partner integrations (NVIDIA, HPC ecosystem, software stack partners)

What we’re looking for
  • Solid understanding of quantum computing fundamentals: qubits, superposition, entanglement, gate fidelity, decoherence, error correction, and how superconducting systems differ from other modalities. You do not need to be a working physicist, but you must be able to read a paper, hold a substantive conversation with one of our scientists, and explain a benchmark to a non‑technical buyer

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in technical marketing, product marketing, technical writing, or sales engineering, ideally in deep tech, semiconductors, HPC, scientific instrumentation or AI infrastructur

  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and accurately about complex technical subjects for multiple audiences (researcher, enterprise buyer, journalist)

  • Strong visual and presentation skills; able to build a technical slide deck that is rigorous and clean

  • Comfort working with scientists and engineers as primary stakeholders

  • Excellent written and spoken English

What is seen as a benefit
  • Direct experience in quantum computing, photonics, cryogenics, superconducting electronics, or HPC

  • Hands‑on or research experience with quantum software frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent)

  • Experience working with national labs, research institutions or HPC centers

  • Familiarity with technical content workflows (LaTeX, Jupyter, GitHub, scientific publishing)

  • Prior experience supporting a public or pre‑IPO company through technical positioning

Why IQM?
  • Full-stack quantum computing: From quantum hardware to software layers and beyond, we build across the full‑stack.

  • High-performance playground: We aim high, and we know sustainable performance only works when life outside work does too—hybrid setups, flexible hours.

  • Never the smartest: Expect to learn constantly. You won't always be the smartest person in the room, and that's the point.

  • Approachable leadership: Flat hierarchy, direct access. Feel free to approach any leaders. They’re friendlier than they look!

  • The sweet spot: Big enough to matter. Small enough to move fast. Growing between a startup and a corporation. We’re in the phase where top performers get noticed.

  • Bigger than IQM: Our people build know‑how for the entire quantum ecosystem. We publish papers, run hackathons, and help shape a market that's still being defined.

The future of computing won’t build itself. You might be one of the few who do.
