Experience & Leadership Skills
- Technical Leadership: Proven experience leading and managing technical teams (Cloud, DevSecOps, or Systems Engineering) in an enterprise or DoD environment.
- Strategic Communication: Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, contract leadership and DoD customer representatives.
- Requirements & Asset Management: Experienced in enterprise requirements gathering, hardware/software tracking, systems documentation and agile methodologies (Scrum/Jira/Kanban).
- Technical Awareness
- Cloud & DevSecOps: Structural awareness of AWS/Azure architectures, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and modern infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Topology & Diagramming: High-level understanding of highly detailed logical network/ physical infrastructure diagrams and diagramming tools (e.g., MS Visio).
- Security & compliance: Familiarity with federal enterprise frameworks (e.g., DoDAF) and security compliance frameworks (RMF, NIST SP 800-53, Zero Trust) within a cybersecurity or digital forensics context.
Education & Experience
- 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience.
- Security Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- Desired Certifications: CISSP or CISM or Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Security+.
Peraton is seeking a Technical Manager in our Linthicum, MD office to support our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, motivated, and high-performing team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber investigations, digital forensics, cyber threat analysis, and mission support in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will contribute to protecting national security interests by leveraging technical expertise, leadership skills, and innovative problem-solving to address complex cyber challenges.
In this role, you will lead the Cloud, DevSecOps, and Architecture team to deliver the secure, modern, and scalable infrastructure that powers these mission-critical cyber capabilities. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy through active resource management, team mentorship, and cross-functional alignment. Operating at the enterprise level, you will coordinate across multiple projects to decompose requirements, eliminate technical silos, and streamline redundant processes into cohesive, enterprise-wide project plans.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead & Mentor: Oversee the daily operations of the Cloud, DevSecOps, and Architecture engineering teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Resource Allocation: Manage workloads, balance resources, and align team efforts with overall mission and agency priorities.
- Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary translator and communication link between non-technical business stakeholders, DoD customers, and technical engineering teams.
2. Enterprise Coordination & Documentation Control
- Requirements Decomposition: Gather and analyze high-level stakeholder requirements, translating them into structured, actionable technical objectives for the Cloud, DevSecOps, and Architecture engineering teams
- Topology & Diagramming: Manage & Review the creation and updating of highly detailed logical network diagrams, physical infrastructure diagrams, and rack elevations in support of the DC3 Cloud and on-Prem Enterprise
- Compliance & Asset Management: Oversee Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) documentation management and oversee the DC3 Portfolio Management process.
- Silo Reduction: Identify overlapping technical requirements across different cyber and forensic projects to design shared enterprise-level network and cloud services, reducing duplicate work and manual labor.
3. Strategic Technical Oversight
- High-Level Direction: Provide strategic oversight for cloud initiatives (AWS/Azure) and modern infrastructure practices that support digital forensics and threat analysis platforms.
- Technical Evaluation: Evaluate proposed architectural solutions for scalability, security, and integration without performing hands-on development or coding.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all team deliverables comply with federal/DoD security frameworks and zero-trust principles.
