  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in CS, EE, AI, ML, or related technical field.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions into embedded automotive environments.
  • Proven ability to lead the transition from classical software development methods to AI-assisted development approaches.
  • Experience with the V-model automotive development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication across engineering teams and leadership levels.
  • 5+ years in automotive software/embedded systems; 1+ year AI integration; 3+ years leading global projects.

For our Compute Performance business unit in North America, we are looking for a Technical Manager – AI Software and Processes to lead the regional strategy for applying artificial intelligence across engineering, product development, and business processes.

This role will combine technical leadership, strategic thinking, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate the transition from classical software development toward AI-assisted development and AI-enabled automotive products.

  • Define and implement the regional strategy for the use of AI across roles, functions, and development processes in alignment with local and global leadership.
  • Lead and coach associates through the transition into AI-assisted roles, enabling teams to adopt new tools, methods, and ways of working.
  • Advise the regional business unit on AI-related investments, organizational development, capability building, and restructuring opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other U.S. locations and global teams on the development and integration of AI capabilities into Compute Performance products.
  • Create concepts, architectures, and implementation approaches for deploying AI into Bosch performance computers, including AI-powered cockpit and ADAS solutions.
  • Support acquisition activities by providing technical expertise, product development input, and customer-facing guidance on AI software and embedded AI topics.
  • Drive alignment between software engineering, embedded systems, AI development, validation, and product management stakeholders.
  • Promote scalable processes, tools, and best practices for AI-assisted software development, testing, debugging, tracing, and performance optimization.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated deploying AI solutions into embedded systems, preferably in automotive or safety-relevant product environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, validating, debugging, tracing, and analyzing performance for embedded AI products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the transition from classical software development methods to AI-assisted development approaches.
  • Experience with traditional automotive product development through the complete V-model, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, validation, and release.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly across all abstraction levels, from engineering teams to senior leadership.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset combined with entrepreneurial drive and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and working effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
  • 5+ years of professional experience inautomotive software, embedded systems, or a closely related technical field.
  • 1+ year of artificial intelligence or machine learning technical integration and steering for global product development.
  • 3+ years of experience contributing to or leading large-scale global engineering projects across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AI/ML model deployment on automotive-grade compute platforms, including CPU, GPU, NPU, or heterogeneous SoC environments.
  • Knowledge of AI software development workflows, MLOps, DevOps, CI/CD, toolchain automation, and data-driven development processes.
  • Familiarity with cockpit, ADAS, vehicle computing, or other embedded mobility applications.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and motivate teams through technical credibility, clarity, and vision.
