Job summary

Samtec is seeking a Technical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all shifts and processes in automated manufacturing. You will coordinate technician coverage, manage staff, and procure tools while improving safety and throughput.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and customer service to resolve issues in automated systems; may handle hazardous materials. Must have 5+ years as a technician on automated machines, vision 20/40, and the ability to lift 70 lbs with endurance for long shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Technician on automated machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have 20/40 correctable vision.
• Must be capable of lifting 70 lbs. from floor to waist and have full use of all digits.
• Capable of standing and/or sitting for more than 90 minutes straight and not suffer from sensory deprivation or paralysis of the limbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of Automation/Hand Fill equipment across all shifts.
• Coordinate schedules for the technical group to ensure adequate technician coverage for manufacturing times.
• Manage staff performance, discipline, and evaluations.
• Procure tools, supplies, and equipment needed for the technician staff.
• Coordinate projects on existing machinery to improve quality, throughput, and safety.
• Oversee Preventative Maintenance for manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and customer service to investigate issues in automated manufacturing.
• Interface with engineering on tooling/machinery for new projects and products.
• Potentially handle hazardous materials.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the general safety of all Automation/Hand Fill equipment.
• Coordinate schedules for technical group to ensure all manufacturing times have adequate Technician coverage.
• Responsible for management of staff including discipline, performance evaluations, etc.
• Responsible for timely procurement of necessary tools, supplies, and equipment required for the technician staff to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.
• Coordinate projects on existing machinery to improve quality, throughput, and safety.
• Responsible for Preventative Maintenance program for all manufacturing process related equipment .
• Work with engineering, quality, and customer service departments to investigate issues related to automated manufacturing.
• Interface with engineering on tooling/machinery for new projects and products associated with automated manufacturing.
• Could potentially involve handling hazardous materials.

Required Experience :
