Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) seeks an experienced senior engineer to lead quality assurance and QC reviews for large-diameter water and wastewater projects in Frisco, Texas.

You will guide design teams, perform conceptual reviews, and provide technical direction to project managers and principals. The role emphasizes client relationship management, pursuit activities, mentorship, and adherence to AWWA/ASCE/ASTM standards, with potential to assume Principal-in-Charge responsibilities.

Qualifications

• PE license required (Professional Engineer).
• 10+ years of experience with large diameter water and wastewater pipelines and facilities.
• Ability to work with multiple design teams on concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Conducts QA and QC activities in reviewing project reports, design drawings, and specifications.
• Conducts Design Conceptual Reviews for complex projects.
• Provides technical guidance and recommendations to client in support of Project Managers and Project Principals.
• Contributes to pursuit efforts including proposals and statements of qualifications.
• Maintains key client relationships with decision-makers and may serve as client manager.
• Reviews and facilitates growth of internal technical capabilities across disciplines centered on civil engineering.
• Provides consultation to leadership on technical capabilities.
• Maintains relationships with industry experts and manufacturers to stay current with industry technologies and specs.
• Maintains familiarity with AWWA, ASCE, and ASTM design standards.
• Understands business goals and project financial performance.
• May assume Principal-in-Charge of projects or Client Manager.
• Mentor staff to execute final, detailed design and project closeout.
• Exhibits exceptional leadership, inspiring multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintains memberships in technical committees or professional practice organizations.

• Maintains familiarity with current AWWA, ASCE, and ASTM design standards, manuals, details, and specifications.

• May assume responsibility as Principal-in-Charge of projects or Client Manager.
• Mentor staff to execute final, detailed design and project closeout.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical preferred) from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering license required (PE).
• 10+ years of experience primarily with large diameter water and wastewater pipelines and facilities.
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam preferred
• Time management and organization skills with the ability to be involved with multiple different design teams and concurrent projects at various design projects required.
