Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting is seeking a Technical Lead to manage the software development team and drive delivery of secure, centralized services for NIH CADR workflows. The role emphasizes leadership across the development lifecycle, task estimation, and collaboration with program leadership.

The position is on-site in Bethesda/Rockville, Maryland, with opportunities to guide architecture, mentor staff, and deliver high-quality software in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an Agile software development team.
• Proficiency with Python and Django in a DevOps setting.
• Experience with cloud data storage/processing (AWS, GCP).
• Strong SQL experience (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and data formats (XML/JSON/CSV).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, tests, and regression testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to coach teammates.

Responsibilities

• Manage the software development team's efforts in an Agile framework.
• Provide work estimates and ensure on-schedule delivery of solutions.
• Oversee development lifecycle and maintain technical documentation.
• Research new technologies to advance product goals.
• Coordinate actions of the development team and liaise with leadership.
• Maintain high code quality and collaborate with program leadership.
